There was a pastor who believed in God no matter the circumstances. He refused to let go of his Christian faith. Every day, he read the Bible at his set time of meeting with God.

One day, a heavy flood came from the seaside and rushed toward the village while the pastor was in the church praying. All the villagers left the village to find a safe place.

One villager remembered that the pastor was still in the church, so he ran back to warn him about the flood. But the pastor said, “God will save me.”

Moments later, the floodwater entered every house and church. The pastor was still in the church with the water rising. Then a fisherman who was rescuing those left behind came and asked the pastor to get on the boat. The pastor said again, “God will save me.”

When all the homes were filled with water, the pastor climbed onto the roof of the church and kept praying to God. While he was praying, a helicopter arrived. The people on board called out to him to come in and be safe. The pastor turned them down, saying, “God will save me.”

Finally, the flood overtook the village and the pastor died.
