In an effort to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) against women and girls in Liberia, community volunteers of the Bible Society of Liberia (BSL), with support from their supervisors, have been actively conducting GBV awareness activities in schools within targeted communities.

On May 19, 2026, a GBV awareness session was held at Destiny Academy Foundation School in Chocolate City. Additionally, on May 21, 2026, volunteers from the Slipway Community conducted a similar GBV awareness campaign at Kids Foundation School in the Slipway Community.

The Bible Society of Liberia remains committed to promoting awareness and contributing to the reduction of Gender-Based Violence against women and girls across Liberia.

The Bible Society of Liberia continues its engagements with every stakeholder as the program progresses.

On Friday, May 15, 2026, the Gender Committee in Montserrado County held an interactive meeting to share and receive updates on the implementation of the program, experience sharing and recommendations to improve the program. Additionally, on May 19, 2026, a similar meeting was held in Kakata City, bringing together members of the Gender Committee for further discussions, collaboration, and program updates.

The Volunteers of the Bible Society of Liberia i(BSL)n Gardnersville and New Kru Town are reinforcing community engagement through Gender-Based Violence (GBV) awareness activities in schools, with support from BSL staff.

On May 4, 2026, a successful awareness session was conducted at Allen Bryant School, and on May 5, 2026, another session was held at St. Augustine School.

The awareness activities brought together students and teachers to promote discussions on preventing Gender-Based Violence, encouraging positive behavior, and creating safer environments within schools and communities.

The Bible Society of Liberia remains committed to empowering communities through awareness, education, and community engagement initiatives.

The Trauma Healing Team of the Bible Society of Liberia continues to engage the church and communities .

On May 6, 2026, the BSL trauma healing team started a healing session in Gaye Town Community, Old Road, at the Refuge Ministries .

The session brought together men and women from various churches in Gaye Town as well as members of the community, to participate in discussions and activities focused on healing,heart wounds, restoring hope, and confident.
The Bible Society of Liberia remains committed to supporting communities through trauma healing and psychosocial engagement aimed at promoting peace, unity, and emotional recovery.

The Bible Society of Liberia (BSL) has successfully conducted its first stakeholder engagement meetings under the Young Samaritan Program simultaneously in Montserrado County and Margibi County from May 7–8, 2026.

The engagements brought together students, teachers, school administrators, PTA representatives, persons with disabilities, and representatives from government institutions to strengthen collaboration and participation in youth-focused interventions.
The meetings introduced the vision, goals, and key components of the Young Samaritan Program, aimed at promoting youth development, positive social behavior, community well-being, and safer learning environments.
Stakeholders also reviewed the baseline findings, discussed implementation strategies, and shared recommendations, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen the successful operations of the program within schools and communities.

In Montserrado County, representatives from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth and Sports participated in the engagement, while in Margibi County representatives from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Youth and Sports actively contributed to the discussions.

BSL appreciate all stakeholders and partners for their active participation and continued support toward empowering young people and building inclusive and resilient communities.

With the quest to expand awareness of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), the Bible Society of Liberia organized a two-day training from April 16–17, 2026, at Jesus Christ Healing Ministries in Kakata City, Margibi County.
The training brought together 30 participants from Weala, Sugar Hill, Larkayta, Green Hill, B**g Mines Road, and the 24 Gate Community. Participants included leaders from community groups, churches, and the Muslim community, reflecting a strong spirit of inclusiveness and collaboration.
The sessions provided a platform for learning, dialogue, and collective action toward addressing GBV in these communities.
Together, we can work to minimize Gender-Based Violence and build safer, stronger communities across Liberia. 💙

The Bible Society of Liberia, as a Christian organization committed to promoting positive social change and raising awareness of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
A two-day training was held from April 14–15, 2026, at Heritage International in Slipway, Monrovia, bringing together 30 participants from Central Monrovia and Old Road,—as well as church and community leaders from these areas. The sessions provided a platform for learning, open dialogue, and collective commitment toward addressing GBV.
Key topics covered included Gender Concepts, Types of Gender-Based Violence, and Referral Pathways.
Together, we can work to minimize Gender-Based Violence and build safer and stronger communities across Liberia. 💙

In response to the growing impact of workplace and family-related trauma, the Bible Society of Liberia (BSL) continues to expand its Trauma Healing Program across key government institutions.

On March 30, 2026, a trauma healing session commenced with the Liberia National Fire Service. The session provided a safe and supportive space for participants to share their experiences and begin their journey toward healing.

Kormon School of Excellence in Mango Town, Brewerville–Monrovia, to extend outreach efforts within the community, schools, and churches.
