President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has announced plans for the construction of 600 social housing units across six counties in Liberia. The announcement was made during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) to the National Legislature.
According to the President, the project aims to address the country’s housing deficit and improve living conditions for low- and middle-income families.
The initiative will be implemented through the National Housing Authority as part of a Special Presidential Project, with construction expected to begin soon.
The government says the program will also create jobs and contribute to urban development while helping reduce overcrowding and informal settlements.
