PRAYER WARRIOR MARTHA DOE SLAPPED WITH 20-YEARS PRISON SENTENCE FOR MURDER
BUCHANAN - Prayer warrior Martha Doe, 65, has been sentenced to 20-year imprisonment for murdering Joseph Blama, following an affirmation of the 2nd Judicial Circuit Court in the Grand Bassa County decision.
Defendant Martha Doe was adjudged guilty by the 2nd Judicial Circuit Court for murdering the late Joseph Blama who went for prayer at her Prayer Band in St. John City Grand Bassa County .
In its final judgment on Monday, September 26, 2022, the Trial Jurors of the Second Judicial Circuit Court announced a unanimous guilty verdict against Prayer Warrior, Martha Doe for murder and kidnapping of the late Joseph Blama.
The Jurors found Prophetess Martha Doe guilty for the commission of the crimes of Kidnapping and Murder on Monday after the final legal argument into the case was done.
The Court gave its final judgment into the case when it denied the motion for a new trial and confirmed the unanimous guilty verdict of the trail Jurors.
Judge Kennedy Peadobdy announced the 20 years sentence in keeping with subsections 14.1 and 14.50 of the penal code, consistent with 50.5.
Besides her sentence, another five years sentence was announced for St. John City Mayor James E. Brooks for the crimes of Criminal Facilitation and Conspiracy.
Immediately after the ruling of the Judge, the prayer warrior Martha Doe was again taken to the Buchanan Central prison to commence her 20-years sentence.
Meanwhile, the defense council represented by Attorney G. Mat Diah- Kun Tohr announced an appeal to the ruling to be taken to the Supreme Court for review during its March term of court in 2023.
