Deception is like a hidden fishing hookβ€”it offers quick gains but leaves behind broken trust, lost peace, and ruined reputations. Whether in business, marriage, or leadership, truth is the only foundation that stands the test of time.
Here is how God’s Word breaks down deception versus truth:

1️⃣ Deception: The Hidden Trap
Original Meaning:
Dolos* (Greek) β€” bait, trick, deceit; *Mirmah* (Hebrew) β€” fraud, treachery.

Everyday Reality:
A vendor promises top quality but delivers cheap counterfeits. He earns quick profit today, but loses his character and customers tomorrow.
* πŸ“– *Proverbs 14:8* β€” *"The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit."*

2️⃣ Truth: The Unshakable Foundation

Original Meaning:** *AlΔ“theia* (Greek) β€” reality, what is genuine; *Emeth* (Hebrew) β€” firmness, faithfulness.
Everyday Reality: An employee owns up to a costly mistake at work. Though difficult, their integrity earns lasting respect and honor.

Satan uses secrecy and deceit to destroy homes, peace, and fellowship with God. Hiding secret sins in a marriage or business only invites bondages of guilt and fear.
