How will you become more like Jesus Christ today?
2 Nephi 31:20

"I know that as we take that one step closer to Jesus Christ everyday that we can become like Him and live with our Father in Heaven!"

God is never ok with our sin, but He will always allow us to repent. In fact, He wants it!

Psalms 30:5 reads "For his anger kindleth against the wicked; they repent, and in a moment it is turned away, and they are in his favor, and he giveth them life; therefore, weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

God has to be strict with us when we transgress the commandments, but the moment we repent, God's anger is turned away. He wants us to repent, He wants us to change, because He knows that following those commandments will always bring us more joy than breaking them.

Our earthly fathers are wonderful blessings from our Heavenly Father. They're meant to guide and comfort us as we navigate life.

The first commandment that God gave men and women gave them their responsibility to have and care for children: "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth" (Genesis 1:28.) Providing and lovingly caring for his children is the greatest and most divine responsibility a man can ever assume.

Happy father's day!

Pride in our own strength will leave us without God's help.

Jesus Christ taught in the book of Matthew that "whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased." The Book of Mormon gives a good example of this. A mighty nation was blessed by God because of their righteousness, but then they began to focus on their own greatness and forget about God. "And because of this their great wickedness, and their boastings in their own strength, they were left in their own strength; therefore they did not prosper, but were afflicted and smitten."

When we stop appreciating God's grace, we'll lose it and be left vulnerable to the full brunt of the trials of this world and temptations of the devil with only our own meager strength.

Message us to learn how to access more of God's strength by following Jesus Christ!

How will God Judge us?

The Book of Mormon teaches us that "men should be judged according to their works; and if their works were good in this life, and the desires of their hearts were good, that they should also, at the last day, be restored unto that which is good."

We will be judged according to our works and the desires of our hearts. We have control over the choices that we make that God will judge us by. We "are [our] own judges, whether to do good or do evil." The choice is left with us.

Have you ever felt overwhelmed?

Don't worry! In the bible, the Prophet Elisha had a servant who felt the same way when an army surrounded them. Elisha told his servant "Fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them." (2 Kings 6:16)

If you are trying to do what is right, the help you will receive from heaven is more than what is in front of you. Comment below how you've seen God's hand in your life!

The Lord will keep us accountable, but His love for us will never fail.

In the bible, God promises of David, "I will be his father, and he shall be my son." If David sinned, God promised to "chasten him with the rod of men." The Lord cannot excuse any sin, and will always direct us towards righteousness. But this comes from a place of love and a desire to help us improve.

God promises that "my mercy shall not depart away from [David]." And it won't ever depart from us, either. Comment below how you've seen God's mercy in your life!

We can build our faith by being with other faithful people.

Jesus Christ said, "where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." When we gather with other believers, their faith inspires us and we can inspire them, and we all become stronger. This is one of the reasons why God asks us to go to church once a week.

It's not enjoyable to suffer, but suffering will come and we need to endure it patiently.

In the New Testament, Peter reminds us that there's no apparent glory in suffering wrongfully, "but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God." He shows how Jesus Christ, the innocent Son of God, was unfairly reviled, but "reviled not again" and committed Himself to His just Heavenly Father.

The life of Jesus Christ is an example of how even when we do the right thing, there will be suffering, but Christ shows how we need to respond. Not with frustration, but with compassion. Comment below how Jesus has helped you find peace as you endure your trials!

On Easter we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. After three days laying in the tomb, Jesus's body was reunited with His spirit and He rose from the dead. Today we celebrate that though He died, He now lives!

The resurrection completed His magnificent atonement, which gives us the opportunity to be cleansed from our sins and return to heaven. His resurrection also paved the way for the rest of God's children to rise from the dead; Christ conquered death for us all.

We will be forever indebted to Jesus Christ because of His atonement: His suffering, death, and resurrection. This Easter Sunday, we invite you to ponder how you can show your love and gratitude to Him for this matchless gift.

After a night of agony and suffering, Jesus Christ was betrayed into the hands of Roman and Jewish authorities. They beat Him with whips and forced Him to carry His own cross up to the top of Calvary hill wearing painful and mocking crown of plaited thorns. There they brutally drove nails through His hands and feet to crucify Him.

With the suffering He endured for His tormentors fresh on His mind, Christ was characteristically charitable and forgiving in His final moments of mortality. “forgive them;" He pleads the Father, "for they know not what they do.”

Because of that atoning sacrifice, we, too, can be forgiven of our sins and mistakes. He paid the unpayable price and offers complete cleanliness if we're willing to accept His gospel. What can you do to show your gratitude to Christ for the gift of His life?

On the Thursday before Easter Sunday, Jesus had the passover feast with His twelve apostles and then took them to the garden of Gethsemane. He asked them to wait at the edge and walked to the center alone.

There Jesus Christ suffered the pains, temptations, sicknesses, and other mortal imperfections experienced by every person that ever lived and ever will live on earth. The pain was so great that He sweat great drops of blood, "shed for many for the remission of sins."

Because of this pain, Christ knows the pain we feel. We are never alone in our suffering.
