YSA Institute Activity – March 7, 2026
As part of the enrollment drive and efforts to increase attendance in the Institute program within the Virginia Liberia Stake, the Brewerville Chapel Institute class hosted a wonderful YSA activity and invited the St. Paul Bridge and Daula Wards Institute classes to participate.
The activity began with inspiring discussions on the importance of attending Institute. The discussion aligned with the invitation from President Russell M. Nelson to all of Heavenly Father’s children to seek the guidance, protection, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.
Participants also reflected on a BYU devotional message from President Dallin H. Oaks, in which he encouraged young single adults to actively attend and participate in the Institute program.
Following the discussion, participants enjoyed several outdoor and recreational activities including:
• Kickball
• Football
• Chair dance
• Rap presentations
During the program, speakers shared inspiring messages centered on strengthening faith and remaining spiritually grounded.
Brother Dexter Tolbert spoke on “Building the Word,” encouraging participants to build their lives upon the teachings of the gospel.
Brother Armah Toe spoke on “Staying in the Box,” emphasizing the importance of remaining within gospel standards by strengthening faith in Jesus Christ.
Bishop Jones B. Forkpah encouraged students to take advantage of the wonderful educational opportunities available through BYU–Pathway Worldwide.
He also encouraged the young single adults to follow the Savior’s example and obey Heavenly Father’s commandments so their light can continue to shine, reminding them to center their faith in Christ.
To reinforce these principles, he shared scriptures from Helaman 5:12 and John 8:12.
The activity was joyful and uplifting, strengthening friendships among the young single adults and encouraging continued participation in the Institute program.
A total of 65 students were in attendance.
