Caption: Christians Encouraged to Deepen Their Walk with God During August Service

During the Wednesday service on August 7, 2024, Apostle Alphonso A. Dean, Dean of the Christian Mission Assembly, delivered a powerful message based on Joshua 24:14-15, urging Christians to demonstrate their love and commitment to God. The theme for this month’s message centered on showing one’s devotion through personal and communal expressions of faith.

Apostle Dean outlined six key areas where Christians can manifest their love for God. He emphasized the importance of personal dedication, regular attendance, and adherence to God's commandments. He noted that walking with God is a personal journey that doesn’t depend on others’ opinions but involves living a life that aligns with divine expectations.

He cited biblical figures such as Enoch, Joseph, and Noah as examples of individuals who walked closely with God despite challenges. Their steadfastness, he argued, serves as a model for contemporary believers. Dean stressed that regardless of life’s difficulties, Christians should remain committed to walking with God to experience His blessings.

The sermon also highlighted Abraham’s relationship with God, which was so profound that God referred to him as a friend. This level of intimacy with God is what Dean encouraged the congregation to strive for. He urged the church to use August as an opportunity to strengthen their walk with God and to bask in His grace.

To support this spiritual journey, Dean recommended practical steps: self-denial, consecration to holy living, reverence for God, maintaining a close relationship with the Holy Spirit, and fostering a vibrant church life. He also emphasized the importance of personal time with God and encouraged believers to cultivate a healthy environment both at home and work.

Acknowledging the role of spiritual leadership, Dean reminded the congregation that leaders are human and can falter, but this should not hinder one’s personal pursuit of God. He concluded his message by referencing Philippians 3:17-19 and extended his blessings, wishing the grace of God upon all attendees.

In summary, Apostle Dean’s message was a call for Christians to renew their commitment to walking with God, embracing both the challenges and rewards of this lifelong journey.

Happy Good Friday & National Fast and Prayer Day.

In 1882 there was a threat of an invasion of Liberia by the British army under the commend of Gen. Harvock.
At that time, Liberia had no army.

The President of Liberia was His Excellency Anthony W. Gardner, and his vice president was Hon. Alfred F. Russell.
President Gardner, being troubled resigned, and his vice president Russell was sown in office.
President Russell, immediately, asked the church to lead the nation to seek the Lord through prayers.

A three day fast and prayer was declared. All government office, business houses, and foreign embassies were closed and every one met at the old Providence Baptist Church.
On the third and final day of the fast and prayer,a strange gun boat appeared from the East and began to fire at the British gun boat.

This frightened the British army and they fled from our waters.
Til today, no one knows where that gun boat came from.
In response and appreciation to God for this miraculous interventions, the government of Liberia in conjunction with the legislature, passed into Law and declared in 1883, that every second Friday of April each year in Liberia shall be observed as National Fast and Prayer Day.

Today is National Fast and Prayer Day and it falls on Good Friday.
Because of the state of the nation, we can not congregate; but the God of Good Friday is not limited or conditioned to a building, He is every where.
Because His death, today brought redemption to the world, when we call on Him today, He will redeem us from this demonic virus.

Use this text for prayer today 1 Chronicles 7: 13-14.
I am on the mount with you as we lift our nation to the Lord.
Happy Good Friday
Rev. Alphonso Dean

Let's use the weapon of praise today.
Text: 11chron. 20:21
When a nation is not fighting offensive war it is engaged in defensive wars.
Some national are busy fighting cold wars with unpleasant words against enemy nation. We have a war, A War against an unknown enemy, sent by a known enemy. Men has designed war artilleries, fi****ms and various weapon of warfare, infact, by today's standards, no nation observes quietly when there is threat on its citizens or resources of territory.
But when Judah was being invaded by the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, King Jehoshaphat gathered his people and prayed to God for help.
( To whom is our King praying)
God gave them a simple strategy: sing praise, it is the Lord's battle.
Praise draws our attention away from our problems no matter how overwhelming they are and lifts our gaze to God.
Use this weapon today.
As you praise today, the beauty of His majesty, may your heart be drawn from this virus to Jesus.
Amen

As you join me to break day one fast, I declare that everything concerning you shall remain Divine.
What a life we have in Jesus when all our goodness in life from beginning to end is imported, not from abroad but from the Divine warehouse at Heaven's Gate.
I declare, any other warehouse or laboratory that is releasing any thing contrary to Heaven's order, is hereby destroy by the supreme blood of Jesus.
Read Psalm 144:9, and break, since you can't make it to the church.
