New Covenant Church, Colombo The New Covenant Church was founded by Rev. Dr. Verghese Chandy and Pastor Hildegard Chandy in May 2000 in Colombo.

The New Covenant Church was founded by Dr. Verghese Chandy and Hildegard Chandy in May 2000 in Colombo. The Church began with five people who met for prayer at the home of Pastors Verghese and Hildegard in Torrington Avenue. By 2003, to accommodate the steady growth of believers, they moved into the third floor of the Cargills Food City in Thimbirigasyaya and shortly after, expanded to occupy the

fourth floor as well. As the membership grew even further, they moved to the former Siloam Mission building in Wellawatte. This building was purchased and renovated at a cost of Rs. 30 million. There are currently six full-time pastors/workers and a number of volunteers assisting the Senior Pastor, several of whom are studying at the Lanka Bible College, Centre for Graduate Studies. The New Covenant Church conducts three separate services each Sunday. Around 300 people attend these services and there are over 100 children in Sunday school. Hildegard Chandy has ably overseen the work at the church from its inception. A noteworthy achievement of 2013 was the publication of the book War & Grace” by Dr. Verghese Chandy which is currently in its fourth print and is available in most Christian bookshops. A Tamil translation of the book is also now available. Both Pastors Verghese and Hildegard are invited to Seminars and Conferences both in the island and abroad. In addition, our Pastors conduct regular seminars in different parts of the island. While we thank the Lord for his faithfulness, we also appreciate the Executive Board of the Fellowship and the Chairman for their all-inclusive support and prayer for the church. Church Services:
