Youth Sodality of St. Aloysius Gonzaga - Wattala Youth Sodality of St. Aloysius Gonzaga was established on 8th September, 1911 Aloysius Gonzaga was established on 8th September, 1911 A.D. Fr. P.J Dominic (O.M.I.)

under the guidance of the Assist. Parish Priest of the Wattala, Rev. with a membership of 24 people. After being approved in the constitution by Archbishop, Rev.Fr. Bishop Anthony Kuder on 8th September 1918, it has since been confirmed and registered as a religious society in the parish by the Bishop’s conference in Colombo and being blessed three times by the Holy Pope. On 23rd September 1990, a

new constitution was established and was sanctioned unanimously by the former parish priest Rev. Basil Silva and with the vote of 83 other members in an Extraordinary General Meeting. After 7 years of active service, it was eventually confirmed by Rev. Plasidus De Silva (Rector of Aquinas University College) considering the recommendation of the former parish priest Rev. Earnest Pouruthota. This is the first and the oldest official Catholic society in the Parish of Wattala.
