________________________________
The Mahena, Warakapola Blessed Sacrament Community was established in the year 2014 as the fifth parish foundation of the Blessed Sacrament Congregation in Sri Lanka after a brief period of initial study and “ad experimentum” since the year 2013. The religious who have ministered since then as parish priests were Fr. Christopher SSS (2013), Fr. Anscar Wijerathne SSS (2014 - 2019), Fr. Hashendra Perera SSS (2019 - 2020) and Fr. Justin Chawkan SSS (2021 - 2022). During these years, Frs. Chaminda Fernando SSS, Jude Fernando SSS, Joseph Pakkiam SSS, Louiston Fernando SSS and Roger Fernando SSS have also served the parish as members of the community. At present Frs. Samantha Senanayake SSS and Joseph Packiam SSS are working together at the service of the parish community. Being faithful to the missions handed down by the gifted predecessors, both diocesan and religious, the SSS religious too have also tried their level best to improve the standard of the parish in the areas of their spiritual as well as material perspectives. As a community, we thank God for all the blessings He has showered on the Parish and the faithful who come for the Calvary during the Lenten season.
