Today, our incredible pre-grades teaching team came together for an inspiring workshop on Holistic Growth in Early Learners led by the distinguished Dr. Richa Sood (34+ years of excellence in education!).

From multiple intelligences and child psychology to sensory learning, emotional thinking, and preparing for generational shifts in education—this session was packed with research-backed strategies and hands-on insights.

Our educators left feeling refreshed, empowered, and even more equipped to create balanced, empathetic, and active learning classrooms for today’s curious young learners.

So proud of this team’s dedication to lifelong learning and to raising confident, well-rounded children. 💛

𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 – 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡, 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, & 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭📿🕊️

Our Confirmation students recently spent a deeply meaningful retreat at the Madhu Shrine — a sacred journey that will forever remain in their hearts. Here, under the loving gaze of Mother Mary, they experienced her gentle guidance and powerful intercession — for it is through Mary that we are drawn closer to her Son, Jesus.

Through prayer and reflection — especially the Rosary — the children encountered the profound power of Mary's faith and the life-changing presence of the Holy Spirit. Hearts were opened, faith was deepened, and spirits were truly renewed. In her sanctuary, they learned to trust as she did: "Do whatever He tells you" (John 2:5) — always leading us through Mary to Jesus.

May this sacramental milestone, rooted in the pilgrimage to Our Lady of Madhu, be a lasting foundation as they continue to grow in courage, wisdom, and love for God.

Our little Thomians in Pre-grades lovingly created beautiful handprint tote bags especially for their mothers, filling each one with colour, creativity, and love. 🎨🖐️

These tiny handprints carry the sweetest memories and symbolize the warmth, love, and special bond between a mother and child. A simple gift made by little hands, but filled with the biggest love. 💕

Thank you, dear mothers, for your endless care, patience, guidance, and unconditional love. Today we celebrate the incredible role you play in shaping little hearts and bright futures. 🌷

🌾🍃𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚 & 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐂 – 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 🌾🍃

This week, we didn’t just mark a date on the calendar – we stepped into the heart of Sri Lankan culture. 🌾

The Sinhala & Tamil New Year is a beautiful reminder of our shared heritage, where traditions speak of gratitude, new beginnings, and togetherness. From the auspicious times for lighting the hearth and exchanging meals, to the sweet taste of kavum, kokis, and milk rice – every detail carries centuries of meaning. It’s a time when families come together, old grievances are set aside, and respect for elders and community is renewed.

At STIC, our celebration brought these traditions to life through music, colour, and friendly competition. Students tried their hand (and eyes!) at traditional games.

To our students: understanding these customs isn’t just about history. It’s about finding your roots, respecting diversity, and carrying forward values that unite us as Sri Lankans – no matter which language you speak or what name you call the New Year. 🌞

Let’s keep the spirit alive – not just on the day, but in how we treat each other every day. 💛
