A day of great joy and thanksgiving was celebrated with the solemn opening of the newly built Church of Our Lady of Madhu on its 37th annual feast day.
The New Church was officially opened by Rt. Rev. Dr. Raymond Wickramasinghe, Bishop of Galle. The Festive Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Anthonypillai Gnanapragasam, Bishop of Mannar, together with priests, religious and the faithful of the parish.
The celebrations began on the previous evening with Solemn Vespers, presided over by Rev. Fr. Michael Rajendram, Vicar General of the Diocese of Galle.
π We express our heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Fr. Ravikanth, CMF, Parish Priest, for his tireless dedication and commitment in bringing this new church to completion and for coordinating the preparations for this significant celebration together with the parishioners.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Rev. Fr. Johnson, CMF, Assistant Parish Priest, for his valuable support and assistance throughout the project and celebrations.
May Our Lady of Madhu continue to bless this parish community, its priests and all who gather in this sacred place, and may this new church become a home of prayer, faith, unity and hope for generations to come. πβͺ
