With help from the Cinnamon Gardens Baptist Church, they held regular Sunday Services at the residence of Mr. The church grew between 1913 -1918 and the Minister was Rev. R.O Price, B.A, B.D. From 1915 services were held at “S
ilver Sheen’ on land lent by Mr. P.V.Davidson and the church was called the “The Tin Tabernacle.” The Minister was Rev. E.B.Woods . “The Tin Tabernacle” was located close to the Church of SS.Mary & John , on Church Street, presently known as Stanley Tillekeratne Mawatha, Nugegoda. At this stage the Church was an Independent /Congregationalist Church where persons who belonged to several denominations worshiped together.
