The glorious Sun is rising. A morning breeze is trying to get to its destination through the buildings that expand to the sky in the Colombo city. Nevertheless, the serenity once we had in the town is now being preserved in a monastery, Mahamevnawa Amawatura Bhavana Monastery, nearby. A mild but breathtaking sound of worshiping the Buddha is coming out from the monastery in a distance. The sight of the Gautama Buddha’s beautiful statue at the front of the monastery’s entrance makes anyone’s stressful mind gentle. While this statue with the 32 great bodily characteristics of the Buddha brings joy to a person, the monastery premises itself brings a peaceful sensation even to a troubled mind. The ground is comprised of trees of divergent properties and beauties. These give shed and diminish the tiredness of the disciples who gather to practice the Dhamma at the monastery. As a new concept of the founder of the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monasteries, Most Ven. Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thero, the following structures and houses are to be constructed in the Mahamevnawa Amawatura Monastery at Malabe in Pittugala. This praiseworthy idea was proposed to broaden the opportunity of accumulating merits to the followers as well as the Bhikkhus of the monastery. A Stupa for the Supreme Buddha
