There are 8 zones within the parish of Bandirippuwa . Rev. Fr.

Total number of families in the 8 zones are 980. In the past majority of the families were poor. Most of them worked in coconut fiber mills as casual workers & farmers. Today majority of young & middle aged are employed in Italy. Some others are self employed, though a few are still earning their living daily. In general all live in peace & harmony. Higher percentage of villages attend Sunday Mass

. The Parish of Bandirippuwa was established in 1998. Since then, the Blessed Sacrament Congregation, upon the request of the late Rt. Dr. Frank Marcus Fernando, Bishop of Chilaw, is taking care of the parish. The history of the shrine of Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church runs far back to 1873. Our present community is composed of two members, namely Rev. Priyantha Angodage SSS the Superior and the Parish Priest of the community and Rev. Emil Indika Rodrigo SSS, the assistant. Our heartful of thanks goes to all those who labored hard since the inception of the establishments of our community in Bandirippuwa. Their tireless work and the vision they had and their dedication, have resulted in the developments of the parish and attending to all aspects of the parishioners.
