அருள்திரு. டாக்டர். சாந்தா சொரூபன் சாந்தனபிள்ளை அவர்களின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாறு
அருள்திரு. டாக்டர். சாந்தா சொரூபன் சாந்தனபிள்ளை அவர்கள், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்திற்காக அர்ப்பணிப்புடனும், தரிசனத்துடனும், விசுவாசத்துடனும் வாழ்ந்து வருகிற தேவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர் ஆவார். இலங்கையின் வடபகுதியில் ஒரு போதகரின் குடும்பத்தில் பிறந்த அவர், சிறுவயதிலிருந்தே ஜெபம், தேவ விசுவாசம் மற்றும் ஊழிய அர்ப்பணிப்பு நிறைந்த சூழலில் வளர்க்கப்பட்டார். அவருடைய பெற்றோர், தேவனுடைய வழிகளில் நடக்கவும், தேவனுடைய சித்தத்திற்காக வாழவும் அவரை பயிற்றுவித்தனர். அவருடைய அன்பு தாயார் மறைந்த ஞானம்மாள் சாந்தனபிள்ளை அவர்கள், அவருடைய விசுவாசம், ஜெப வாழ்க்கை மற்றும் ஆவிக்குரிய மதிப்புகளை உருவாக்குவதில் முக்கிய பங்கு வகித்தார்.
அவருக்கு மூத்த சகோதரி வர்ஜினி தரஷிகா சாந்தனபிள்ளை, மூத்த சகோதரர் ஞானசாந்தன் சாந்தனபிள்ளை மற்றும் இளைய சகோதரர் சகரியா சாந்தனபிள்ளை ஆகியோர் உள்ளனர்.
அவருடைய தந்தையார் அருள்திரு. சிமியோன் பிள்ளை சந்தன பிள்ளை அவர்கள், 1972ஆம் ஆண்டு தேவனால் ஊழியத்திற்கு அழைக்கப்பட்டார். தேவனுடைய அழைப்பிற்கு கீழ்ப்படிந்து, அவர் இலங்கையின் வடபகுதியில் “Church of Prayer Mission” என்னும் சபையை நிறுவினார். அங்கு அவர் பலருக்கு உண்மையோடு தேவ ஊழியம் செய்தார். இப்படிப்பட்ட ஜெபமும் விசுவாசமும் நிறைந்த சூழலில் வளர்ந்தது, சாந்தா சொரூபன் அவர்களின் ஆவிக்குரிய பயணத்திற்கும் ஊழிய தரிசனத்திற்கும் பெரும் தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியது.
அவர் தனது உலகியலான கல்வியை Lyceum International School இல் A-Level வரை முடித்தார். 15 வயதிலிருந்தே அவர் தமது தந்தையார் அருள்திரு. சிமியோன் பிள்ளை சந்தன பிள்ளை அவர்களின் வழிநடத்தலும் தலைமையிலும் ஊழியத்தில் காலடி எடுத்து வைத்தார்.
இந்த காலகட்டத்தில், அவர் தமது தந்தையின் ஆவிக்குரிய தந்தையான அருள்திரு. டாக்டர். வர்கீஸ் சாண்டி அவர்களால் ஆவிக்குரிய வழிநடத்தலும் போதனையும் பெற்றார். அவர் இலங்கையின் Lighthouse Churches முன்னாள் மூத்த போதகராகவும், Free Fellowship Churches of Sri Lanka அமைப்பின் இணை நிறுவுநராகவும், Lanka Bible College முன்னாள் முதல்வராகவும், கொழும்பில் உள்ள New Covenant Church அமைப்பின் நிறுவுநராகவும் பணியாற்றியவர் ஆவார்.
மேலும், “ஆசியாவின் பில்லி கிரஹாம்” என்று அறியப்பட்ட அருள்திரு. லாயிட் பெரேரா போன்ற ஆவிக்குரிய தலைவர்களாலும் அவர் வழிநடத்தப்பட்டார். சிறுவயதிலிருந்தே தேவனுடைய வேலைக்கும், மிஷன் ஊழியத்திற்கும் அவருக்குள் ஆழமான பாரம் காணப்பட்டது.
தமது இறையியல் பயணத்துடன் இணைந்து, அவர் மற்றும் அவரது மூத்த சகோதரர் ஞானசாந்தன் சாந்தனபிள்ளை அவர்கள், 1998ஆம் ஆண்டில் “Youth Sowing Camp” என்ற இளைஞர் முகாம் ஊழியத்தை ஆரம்பிக்க தேவனால் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட தரிசனத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டனர். இன்றுவரை தேவ கிருபையால் இந்த ஊழியம் தொடர்ந்து நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. இந்த தரிசனத்தின் மூலம் பல ஊழியங்கள், வெளிச்சேவை நிகழ்ச்சிகள் மற்றும் ஆவிக்குரிய கூட்டங்கள் வளர்ச்சி பெற்று அநேகர் வாழ்க்கையை தொட்டுள்ளன.
21 வயதிலிருந்து அவர் பல நாடுகளுக்கு பயணம் செய்து, மிஷன் ஊழியம், தலைமைத்துவ பயிற்சி, சபை பலப்படுத்துதல் மற்றும் சுவிசேஷ ஊழியங்களில் ஈடுபட்டார். உலகின் 25க்கும் மேற்பட்ட நாடுகளில் அவர் ஊழியம் செய்துள்ளார். தேவ ஊழியம், மிஷன் பணி மற்றும் சர்வதேச கிறிஸ்தவ சேவைகளுக்காக அவர் செய்த அர்ப்பணிப்பை பாராட்டி, University of Jerusalem அவருக்கு கௌரவ B.Th பட்டத்தை வழங்கியது. இத்தனை சாதனைகளுக்குப் பிறகும், ஆவிக்குரிய அறிவிலும், ஊழியத்திலும், தலைமைத்துவத்திலும் மேலும் வளர வேண்டும் என்ற தாகம் அவருக்குள் தொடர்ந்து இருந்தது.
2006ஆம் ஆண்டு, அவர் இந்தியாவின் ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசம், ராஜமுந்திரி, பங்காடியில் உள்ள India Centre for Mission நிறுவனத்தில் Missions Studies படிப்பை தொடர இந்தியா வந்தார். தனது படிப்பை வெற்றிகரமாக முடித்த பிறகு, அவர் மேலும் அதிகமான தேவ ஆர்வத்துடனும் ஊழிய பாரத்துடனும் இலங்கைக்கு திரும்பினார்.
2007ஆம் ஆண்டு, Singapore நகரிலுள்ள City Harvest Church மூலம் முழு கல்வி உதவித்தொகை பெற்று, Oral Roberts University இணைப்பில் நடத்தப்பட்ட Advanced Theology Course படிப்பை முடித்தார். இந்த காலம் அவருடைய இறையியல் அடித்தளத்தை பலப்படுத்தி, ஊழியத்திலும் தலைமைத்துவத்திலும் அவரை மேலும் ஆயத்தப்படுத்தியது.
தமது 28 ஆண்டுகால ஊழியத்தில், இளைஞர்களை ஊக்குவித்து, ஊழியத்திற்கு ஆயத்தப்படுத்துவதிலும் அவர் முக்கிய பங்கு வகித்தார். அவரது ஊழிய காலத்தில், 13 இளைஞர்களை இந்தியாவில் உள்ள Beracha Prophetic Training Centre மற்றும் Singapore City Harvest Church ஆகிய இடங்களில் வேதாகம பயிற்சி பெற அனுப்பினார். அந்த வேதாகமப் பள்ளிகளில் பயிற்சி பெற்ற பலரும் இன்று வெற்றிகரமாக தேவனுடைய ஊழியத்தில் செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றனர்.
மேலும், அவர் தமது தந்தையாருடன் இணைந்து Associate Pastor ஆக 51 சபைகளை மேற்பார்வை செய்தார்.
2010ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 5ஆம் தேதி, அவர் தனது அன்பு மனைவி ஷீபா சொரூபன் அவர்களை திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டார். அவர்கள் இருவரும் இணைந்து உலகின் பல பகுதிகளில் மிஷன் ஊழியம், சபை பலப்படுத்துதல், தலைமைத்துவ மேம்பாடு மற்றும் பல்வேறு தேவ ஊழியங்களில் உண்மையோடு செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றனர். 2014ஆம் ஆண்டு, தேவன் அவர்களுக்கு ஷீனா சொரூபன் என்ற அழகான மகளை அருளினார்.
அவருடைய வாழ்க்கைப் பயணமெங்கும், அவரது மனைவி அவருக்கு மிகுந்த உற்சாகமும் ஆதரவுமாக இருந்து, மேலான இறையியல் கல்வியை தொடர ஊக்குவித்தார். தேவனுடைய வழிநடத்தலின்படி, அருள்திரு. டாக்டர். டேவிட் பாலசிங் அவர்கள், அவரை Yeshcol Bible College இல் மேல்படிப்பை தொடர அறிமுகப்படுத்தி வழிநடத்தினார்.
அருள்திரு. டாக்டர். டேவிட் பாலசிங் அவர்கள் உலகம் முழுவதும் பல கிறிஸ்தவ தலைவர்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டியாக இருந்து வருகிறார். அவர் Southern Asia Bible College இன் முன்னாள் பேராசிரியராகவும் பணியாற்றியுள்ளார். அவருடைய நேரடி வழிநடத்தலின் கீழ் படிப்பது சாந்தா சொரூபன் அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு பெரிய ஆசீர்வாதமாக இருந்தது. அவருடைய வழிகாட்டுதலிலும் மேற்பார்வையிலும் அவர் தனது Doctor of Ministry பட்டப்படிப்பை வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவு செய்தார்.
2024ஆம் ஆண்டு, அவர் இந்தியாவின் கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள Yeshcol Bible College இல் மேல்படிப்பை தொடரும் வாய்ப்பைப் பெற்றார். அங்கு Doctor of Ministry படிப்பை தொடர்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தபோது, 10/04/2026 அன்று Free Fellowship Churches of Sri Lanka மற்றும் Church of Prayer Mission போதகர்களால் Church of Prayer Mission அமைப்பின் Senior Pastor ஆக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.
தேவ கிருபையாலும், அர்ப்பணிப்பாலும், விடாமுயற்சியாலும், அவர் 2026 மே 6ஆம் தேதி தனது Doctor of Ministries பட்டத்தை வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவு செய்தார்.
இன்று அருள்திரு. டாக்டர். சாந்தா சொரூபன் சாந்தனபிள்ளை அவர்கள், மிகுந்த தாழ்மையுடனும், ஆர்வத்துடனும், மிஷன், சீஷத்துவம், தலைமைத்துவ மேம்பாடு மற்றும் தேவ ராஜ்ய விரிவாக்கம் ஆகியவற்றிற்கான தெளிவான தரிசனத்துடனும் தேவனை சேவித்து வருகின்றார். அவருடைய வாழ்க்கை, தேவனுடைய உண்மைத்தன்மைக்கும், தேவ அழைப்பிற்கு கீழ்ப்படிதலின் வல்லமைக்கும் சாட்சியாக உள்ளது.

# Biography of Rev. Dr. Shantha Soruban Shanthanapillai
Rev. Dr. Shantha Soruban Shanthanapillai is a servant of God whose life reflects faith, dedication, vision, and a deep passion for the Kingdom of God. Born into a pastor’s family in the northern part of Sri Lanka, he was raised in an atmosphere of prayer, faith in God, and commitment to ministry. From his childhood, his parents nurtured him in the ways of the Lord and encouraged him to live a life centered on God’s purpose. His beloved mother, Late Gnanammal Shanthanapillai, played a significant role in shaping his faith, prayer life, and spiritual values. He is also blessed with an elder sister, Virgini Dharashika Shanthanapillai, an elder brother, Gnana Shanthan Shanthanapillai, and a younger brother, Zachariah Shanthanapillai.
He completed his secular education up to his A-Level studies at Lyceum International School. From the age of 15, he stepped into ministry under the leadership and guidance of his father, Reverend Simonpillai Shanthanapillai.
His father, Reverend Simonpillai Shanthanapillai, was called by God into ministry in the year 1972. Through obedience to God’s calling, his father established the Church of Prayer Mission in northern Sri Lanka, where he faithfully ministered to many people. Growing up in this environment of faith and prayer greatly influenced Pastor Soruban’s spiritual journey and vision for ministry.
During this period, he was also spiritually guided and mentored by his father’s spiritual father, Rev. Dr. Verghese Chandy, the former Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Churches in Sri Lanka, co-founder of Free Fellowship Churches of Sri Lanka, former Principal of Lanka Bible College in Sri Lanka, and founder of New Covenant Church in Colombo. He was also mentored and encouraged by great spiritual leaders who influenced his ministry journey, including Reverend Lloyd Perera, who was widely known as the “Asia Billy Graham.” From a young age, he carried a deep burden for missions and the work of God.
Alongside his theological journey, he and his elder brother, Gnana Shanthan Shanthanapillai, carried a God-given vision from the year 1998 to begin the “Youth Sowing Camp,” a youth-focused ministry that would impact the younger generation for Christ. By the grace of God, this ministry continues faithfully even to this day. Through this vision, many ministry activities, outreach programs, and spiritual gatherings have continued to grow and touch countless lives.
From the age of 21, he began ministering internationally and traveled extensively for missions, leadership training, church strengthening, and Gospel ministry across many nations. Through his dedication and global ministry involvement, he has ministered in more than 25 nations around the world. In recognition of his commitment to ministry, missions, and international Christian service, he was honored with an honorary B.Th degree from the University of Jerusalem. Despite these achievements, his passion to grow in spiritual knowledge, ministry, and leadership continued to increase.
In 2006, he traveled to India to pursue missions studies at the India Centre for Mission in Pangadi, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. After successfully completing his studies, he returned to Sri Lanka with a greater passion to serve the Lord and reach people through ministry.
In 2007, he received a full scholarship opportunity from City Harvest Church, Singapore, where he pursued and completed an Advanced Theology Course affiliated with Oral Roberts University. This period of study strengthened his theological foundation and further equipped him for ministry and leadership.
During his 28 years of ministry, he also played an important role in encouraging and equipping young people for ministry. During his years of ministry, he sent 13 youngsters to pursue Bible training programs at Beracha Prophetic Training Centre in India and at City Harvest Church in Singapore. Many of those students who completed their Bible training are now successfully serving the Lord in ministry. Along with his father, he was also overseeing 51 churches as an Associate Pastor.
On November 5, 2010, he married his beloved wife, Sheeba Soruban, who became a strong support and partner in ministry. Together, they have faithfully served the Lord through missions, church strengthening, leadership development, and various ministry activities across different nations. God blessed them with a beautiful daughter, Sheena Soruban, in 2014.
Throughout his journey, his wife remained a pillar of encouragement and strength, motivating him to continue pursuing higher theological education. Through God’s divine guidance, Rev. Dr. David Balasingh introduced Pastor Soruban to Yeshcol Bible College and encouraged him to pursue further studies. Rev. Dr. David Balasingh is a respected mentor who has mentored and continues to mentor several Christian leaders around the world. He also served as a former professor at Southern Asia Bible College. It was a great privilege for him to study personally under his mentorship, and he successfully completed his Doctor of Ministry under his guidance and mentorship.
In 2024, he received the opportunity to continue his studies at Yeshcol Bible College in the Kanyakumari district of India. While pursuing his Doctor of Ministry program, he was appointed as the Senior Pastor of Church of Prayer Mission on 10/04/2026 by the Free Fellowship Churches of Sri Lanka together with the pastors of Church of Prayer Mission. Through dedication, perseverance, and the grace of God, he successfully completed his Doctor of Ministries degree on May 6, 2026.
Today, Rev. Dr. Shantha Soruban Shanthanapillai continues to serve the Lord with humility, passion, and a clear vision for missions, discipleship, leadership development, and the expansion of God’s Kingdom. His life stands as a testimony to God’s faithfulness and the power of obedience to His calling.
May God continue to use Rev. Dr. Shantha Soruban Shanthanapillai mightily for His glory and for the transformation of many lives around the world.
