Sri Lanka's Most Sacred Miraculous Shrine, where Blessed Virgin Mary made Her appearance

Devotees, who wish to offer their prayers in front of the Statue of Most Blessed Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus, established in the Shrine Ground (the Apparition Ground) of Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, where Blessed Virgin Mary made Her appearance in person, could enter the Shrine Ground on all days between 7am to 10pm.

At Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, you could silently offer Rosary and could offer your prayers freely without getting disturbed until a duration you wish.

This Most Sacred Miraculous Shrine is situated opposite 20th Mile Post Junction, on Colombo - Negombo road. The 20th Mile Post Junction is also known as the turn off junction to the Sri Lanka Air Force Camp. Though this Shrine is located by the side of the road, the environment around the Statue of Most Blessed Virgin Mary is surrounded with gates, to enable you to offer your prayers in an appropriate atmosphere.

The small gate is being kept open to enter the Shrine Ground.

Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine will be kept open on all Saturdays from 6pm, to offer prayers in front of the Miraculous Statue of Blessed Virgin Mary which shows Life Signs.

The Red Box is placed at the foot of this Miraculous Statue of Blessed Virgin Mary to insert your petition. (The Red Box is placed on all Saturdays only between 6pm to 7pm at the foot of the Miraculous Statue of Blessed Virgin Mary)

Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine, The Only Shrine in Sri Lanka, where Most Blessed Virgin Mary made Her appearance in person for Twenty Three Times, is situated by the side of the Colombo - Negombo main road. From the past, the place where Our Lady of Katunayake’s Shrine is located is also known as the 20th Mile Post Junction. The road leading to the Sri Lanka Air Force Camp originates in front of Our Lady of Katunayake's Shrine. When you travel from Bandaranayake International Airport towards Negombo, the distance from the International Airport to the Shrine of Our Lady of Katunayake is only 6 kilometers.
