Sri Dalada Maligawa (Sinhala: ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාව), also known as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a revered Buddhist temple located in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. Situated within the historic royal palace complex, it enshrines the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the Sacred Relic has played a significant role in Sri Lankan history and governance, as it is traditiona

lly believed that the custodian of the Relic holds the right to rule the country. Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhalese kings, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in part due to the cultural and religious significance of this sacred temple.

තිලෝගුරු සම්මා සම්බුදු පියාණන් වහන්සේගේ අසිරිමත් තෙමඟුල සිහිකරමින් ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවේ වාර්ෂික වෙසක් පෙරහර මෙවරත් චිරාගත සම්ප්‍රදායානුකූලව අද (මැයි 30) දින වීදි සංචාරය කරන ලදී. දළදා මාලිගා ඇත් පන්තියේ සිංදු සහ දෑල වලව්වේ බණ්ඩා හස්ථිරාජයින් දෑලේ පිරිවරාගත් ඉන්දිරාජා හස්ථියා පිට සධාතුක පෙරහර කරඬු වහන්සේ වැමවමින්, වෙසක් පෙරහර මහමළුව මාර්ගයේ ගමන්කර පංසල පාරේ ඉහළටවිත් ගෙවදින ලදි.

The annual Vesak procession of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic was held today (30 May) in commemoration of the Birth, Enlightenment, and Mahaparinibbana of Lord Buddha. The Relic Casket was carried by Indiraja, accompanied by the tuskers Sindu and Banda. The procession proceeded along the Mahamaluwa and returning to the Temple of the Tooth via Temple Road.
