Shalom Church of the Nazarene We are a church of the Great Commission and of Holiness. Our mission is to make Christlike disciples in the nations. We are a Christian people.

As members of the Universal church, we join the true believers in proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus Christ and in embracing the historic Trinitarian creeds of the Christian faith. We value our Wesleyan Holiness heritage and believe the way to understand the true faith is according to Scripture, Reason, Tradition and Experience. We are a Holiness people. God, who is Holy, calls us to a life of holi

ness. We believe the Holy Spirit wants to do in us a second work of grace, called by various terms including entire sanctification and baptism with the Holy Spirit, cleansing us from all sin, renewing us in the image of God; empowering us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and our neighbor as ourselves, and thus producing in us the character of Christ. We are a missionary people. We are a sent people, responding to the call of Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to go unto the world, witnessing to the Lordship of Christ and participating with God in the building of the Church and the extension of His kingdom (2 Corinthians 6:1).

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Pastor, Pas. R. Gobinath, who went to be with the Lord on 30 May 2026.

This heartbreaking news has deeply shocked the Church of the Nazarene family in Sri Lanka. Pastor Gobinath faithfully served the Lord and His people with dedication, humility, and love. His life and ministry will always be remembered with gratitude and honor.

We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the grieving family members, relatives, church members, and all who mourn this great loss. May the comfort and peace of God strengthen every heart during this difficult time.
