The Colombo Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya in Sri Lanka with a Proud history of centuries of heritage is considered to enjoy the respect of citizens of this country.
King Parakramabau the VIth who ruled during the period 1415-1467 AC selected Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte as his kingdom and built the Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya.
Ven. Vidagama thero initiated the Sri Daladha Perehera in 1415 at Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya which was conducted in an excellent manner for a long period of time. This lovely Perehera conducted under the patronage of the government reflects Sri Lankan culture, dance, music and play.
This year’s festival and the pageant, with the participation of over 500,000 people, will be from 31st August 2015 to 13th September 2015.
The cost of the festival is estimated at Sri Lanka Rupees 20 million.
