Today is Advent Sunday : Let’s prepare our hearts for the coming of our Lord.
----
Today marks the beginning of Advent, a sacred season in the Christian calendar that calls us to prepare our hearts and minds to celebrate the coming of our Lord and Saviour.

As we light the candles in the Advent wreath and sing Christmas carols, let us take time to examine our lives, repent and seek God’s forgiveness. May Christ be born anew in each of us, inspiring us to share the love, joy and hope of this season with others.

Yes, Jesus is coming, but not only as a babe in Bethlehem - we also look forward to His glorious second coming. Therefore, we must prepare, watch, be alert and wait, because we do not know the hour of His return.

Jesus says : Yes, I am coming soon. Our response : Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. (Rev. 22:20)

May God bless us all as we prepare for the coming of Jesus!

GFS World Day of Prayer

Today is September 29 (St. Michael & All Angels' Day) and every GFS member knows that it is our World Day of Prayer – the day on which we specially thank God for our Society, for its influence on us and its impact on the community for the past 150 years in different nations of the world.

The GFS brings together different races, nationalities, languages, cultures and worship styles, but we are united through our Lord Jesus Christ. In Him, we are One. We love God and we love one another!

Please especially pray for your World leadership – for strength, courage and wisdom to lead effectively and faithfully. Encourage, support and uphold them as they work with over 30 countries and prepare for World Council 2026.

Let us thank God for the variety of gifts, skills and talents God has blessed each one of us with, to be used for different purposes, through the guidance of the one Spirit.

Please tell us how your branch/country observed WDP 2025.

A hymn in the Order of Service for WDP 2025 reminds us that “We have a Gospel to proclaim, Good News for men in all the earth, the Gospel of a Saviour’s name ….”
So, let’s do it! May we build on our faith, aim for the impossible, reach for the stars and declare that Jesus is Lord!

We remember Pope Francis, who went to his eternal rest on Easter Monday at the age of 88. As the head of the Catholic Church, the bishop of Rome, and the sovereign of the Vatican City State, he demonstrated compassion and humility throughout his life.

During his papacy, Pope Francis courageously addressed pressing global issues such as poverty, inequality, migration, climate change and the pursuit of peace.

He was an advocate for social justice and human dignity and promoted inter-religious dialogue by inspiring people of different faiths to work together for a better world.

Pope Francis will be remembered not only as a leader but also for his warmth and love.

May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
