Final Day of Holy Childhood Animators Training Program (23.08.2026)
80 young men and women from the dioceses of Archdiocese of Colombo, Chilaw, Galle, Kandy, Kurunegalle, Ratnapura and Trincomalee made their final commitment to serve as permanent Animators of Holy Childhood. They are being trained and sent as Missionary Animators to guide, educate and inspire the missionary spirit among the children to bear witness to Jesus. They become spiritual mentors among the children.

Final Day of Holy Childhood Animators Training Program (23.08.2026)
80 young men and women from the dioceses of Archdiocese of Colombo, Chilaw, Galle, Kandy, Kurunegalle, Ratnapura and Trincomalee made their final commitment to serve as permanent Animators of Holy Childhood. They are being trained and sent as Missionary Animators to guide, educate and inspire the missionary spirit among the children to bear witness to Jesus. They become spiritual mentors among the children.
Our Special Thanks to Rev. Fr. Darrel Coonge (Director - Supuwath Arana) for his Psycho-Spiritual, Social, Integral and Holistic Formation Talk that inspired the animators to begin this mission.

We express our gratitude to the Director and the Staff of Seth Sarana (Caritas Colombo) for the support given to organize this event.

Rev. Fr. Nayagam Roy Clarence, the National Director of PMS conducted the first session on "Responsibilities of a Missionary Animator and the Exemplary way of Life". Rev. Fr. Nirmal Fernando, PMS Director of the diocese of Ratnapura conducted the second session on "

The participants were prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation followed by Confessions and Eucharistic Adoration.
The day ended with entertainment and fire-camp.

Second Residential Formation Program for the Holy Childhood Animators.

80 Young men and women from the dioceses of Colombo, Chilaw, Galle, Kandy, Trincomalee, Kurunegala and Ratnapura have come for their Spiritual and Holistic Formation Session before making their final commitment become permanent Animators of Holy Childhood.

Rev. Fr. Harshana Miranda (Diocese of Kandy) was the day’s resource person who highlighted the importance of knowing the purpose of our mission and how to work with children building our own lives as examples to the children.

Second Training Program for Holy Childhood Animators

Day One 14.08.2026

Candidates from the Dioceses of Batticaloa, Kandy and Ratnapura have come for their second training and to receive permanent membership as Animators.
This training is to deepen the animator's personal prayer life and help them to walk with Christ so that they could lead children by genuine example.
Rev. Fr. Jebamalai Christy Paul (Director of SCC Diocese of Kandy) conducted the first session on Evangelization through Discipleship.

The Meeting of the Catholic National Commission for Missionary Activity was held today (12.08.202) at Balcombe Place, Colombo. Most Rev. Dr. Valence Mendis (Chairman - CNC for Missionary Activities) chaired the above meeting. National and Diocesan Directors of various apostolates, Rev. Sisters, Representatives of Lay Movements etc. participated in this meeting. The above meeting was coordinated and conducted by the National Office of the Pontifical Mission Societies.
