ගංගාරාමයෙන් ශ්‍රී ලාංකික සිසුන්ට
ජපාන විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ශිෂ්‍යත්ව
ශ්‍රී ජිනරතන වෘත්තීය පුහුණු මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ ජපන් භාෂා පාඨමාලාව සාර්ථකව අවසන් කළ සිසුන්ට විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ශිෂ්‍යත්ව හා අධ්‍යාපනික ආධාර පිරිනැමේ.
2026 ඔක්තෝබර් 04 – කොළඹ 02, හුණුපිටිය ගංගාරාම විහාරස්ථානය
පාසල් අධ්‍යාපනයෙන් අපේක්ෂිත ප්‍රතිඵල ලබාගැනීමට නොහැකි වූ තරුණ තරුණියන්ට වෘත්තීය දැනුම හා පුහුණුව ලබාදී, ඔවුන්ගේ අනාගතය සාර්ථක කර ගැනීමට මඟ සැලසීමේ අරමුණින්, 1978 වර්ෂයේදී කොළඹ 02, හුණුපිටිය ගංගාරාම විහාරස්ථානයේ එවකට විහාරාධිපතිව වැඩ විසූ අපවත් වී වදාළ අතිපූජ්‍ය ආචාර්ය ගල්බොඩ සිරි ඥානිස්සර නාහිමියන්ගේ (පොඩි හාමුදුරුවන්ගේ) සංකල්පයක් අනුව ශ්‍රී ජිනරතන වෘත්තීය පුහුණු මධ්‍යස්ථානය ආරම්භ කරන ලදී.
එම උදාර අරමුණු සාක්ෂාත් කරමින්, ශ්‍රී ජිනරතන වෘත්තීය පුහුණු මධ්‍යස්ථානය හරහා මේ වන විට දහස් සංඛ්‍යාත තරුණ තරුණියන් වෘත්තීය දැනුම, කුසලතා සහ පුහුණුව ලබා සාර්ථක ජීවිත ගොඩනඟාගෙන සිටිති.
වර්තමාන ගංගාරාම විහාරාධිපති සහ කොළඹ නවකෝරළයේ ප්‍රධාන සංඝනායක අතිපූජ්‍ය ආචාර්ය කිරින්දේ අස්සජි නාහිමියන්ගේ උපදේශකත්වය හා මඟපෙන්වීම යටතේ, 2024 වර්ෂයේදී ජපානයේ සමාජ සේවා ආයතනයක් වන General Foundation Yoshioka Cultural Association හි Mr. Masaki Yoshioka මහතා සමඟ පැවැති සාකච්ඡාවක ප්‍රතිඵලයක් ලෙස ශ්‍රී ලාංකික තරුණ තරුණියන් සඳහා නොමිලේ ජපන් භාෂාව ඉගැන්වීමේ විශේෂ වැඩසටහනක් ආරම්භ කරන ලදී.
මෙම වැඩසටහන යටතේ ජපන් භාෂා පාඨමාලාව සාර්ථකව අවසන් කරන සුදුසුකම් ලත් සිසුන්ට ජපානයේ විශ්වවිද්‍යාල අධ්‍යාපනය සඳහා ශිෂ්‍යත්ව ලබාගැනීමේ අවස්ථාවද සලසා දී ඇත.
මෙම ජපන් භාෂා පාඨමාලාවේ දෙවන කණ්ඩායමේ සිසුන් සඳහා ශිෂ්‍යත්ව සහ සහතිකපත්‍ර ප්‍රදානය කිරීමේ උත්සවය සහ තුන්වන කණ්ඩායමේ සමාරම්භක උත්සවය 2026 ඔක්තෝබර් 04 වන දින ගංගාරාම විහාරස්ථානයේදී පැවැත්විණි.
එහිදී සිසුන් දෙදෙනෙකු සඳහා, එක් ශිෂ්‍යත්වයක් රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 30කට ආසන්න වටිනාකමකින් යුත් ජපාන විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයක අධ්‍යාපනය ලැබීම සඳහා ශිෂ්‍යත්ව දෙකක් පිරිනමන ලදී. තවත් සිසුන් විසි දෙනෙකු සඳහා එක් අයෙකුට රුපියල් 60,000 බැගින් වූ අධ්‍යාපනික ශිෂ්‍යත්ව 20ක් ද පිරිනමන ලදී.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා ලෙස අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය ලේකම් ගරු ප්‍රදීප් සපුතන්ත්‍රී මහතා සහභාගී විය.
එමෙන්ම ශ්‍රී ජිනරතන වෘත්තීය පුහුණු මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ විදුහල්පති ආචාර්ය පල්ලේගම රතනසාර හිමි, ගංගාරාම විහාරවාසී ලිහිණියාවේ ධම්මරතන හිමි ඇතුළු මහා සංඝරත්නය, General Foundation Yoshioka Cultural Association ආයතනයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ශාඛාවේ අධ්‍යක්ෂිකා Ms. Satomi Kobinata, ජපාන තානාපති කාර්යාලයේ නියෝජිතයින්, සිසු දරු දැරියන්, දෙමාපියන් සහ ආරාධිත අමුත්තන් රැසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට සහභාගී වූහ.
ශ්‍රී ජිනරතන වෘත්තීය පුහුණු මධ්‍යස්ථානය මගින් අඛණ්ඩව ක්‍රියාත්මක කරනු ලබන මෙවැනි ජාත්‍යන්තර අධ්‍යාපනික වැඩසටහන්, ශ්‍රී ලාංකික තරුණ පරපුරට නව භාෂා කුසලතා, උසස් අධ්‍යාපන අවස්ථා සහ ජාත්‍යන්තර අත්දැකීම් ලබාගැනීමට මඟ විවර කරන වැදගත් පියවරක් ලෙස සැලකිය හැකිය.

Opportunities in Japan for Sri Lankan Students Sri Jinarathana Vocational Training Centre awards university scholarships and educational assistance under its Japanese Language Programme
Colombo, Sri Lanka – 4 October 2026
The Sri Jinarathana Vocational Training Centre, established under the vision of the late Most Venerable Dr. Galboda Siri Gnanissara Nayaka Thero, affectionately known as “Podi Hamuduruwo”, continues to create meaningful educational and vocational opportunities for Sri Lankan youth. Founded in 1978 at Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo, the Centre was established with the objective of supporting young people who were unable to achieve their expected outcomes through conventional school education by providing them with practical skills, vocational training and pathways towards sustainable livelihoods.
Over the decades, thousands of young men and women have benefited from the Centre’s programmes and have gone on to build successful careers and productive lives.
Under the guidance of the present Chief Incumbent of Gangaramaya Temple and Chief Sanghanayaka of the Colombo New Korale, Most Venerable Dr. Kirinde Assaji Nayaka Thero, a new international educational initiative was launched in 2024 following discussions with Mr. Masaki Yoshioka of the General Foundation Yoshioka Cultural Association, Japan.
The initiative provides Sri Lankan students with the opportunity to study the Japanese language free of charge while also creating pathways for eligible students to pursue higher education opportunities in Japan.
A special ceremony was held at Gangaramaya Temple on 4 October 2026 to award scholarships and certificates to students of the second batch of the Japanese Language Programme and to formally inaugurate the third batch.
During the ceremony, two students were awarded scholarships to pursue university education in Japan, each valued at approximately LKR 3 million. A further 20 students received educational scholarships of LKR 60,000 each in recognition of their progress and achievement.
The event was graced by Hon. Pradeep Saputhanthri, Secretary to the Prime Minister, as the Chief Guest.
Among those present were Venerable Dr. Pallegama Rathanasara Thero, Principal of the Sri Jinarathana Vocational Training Centre; Venerable Lihiniyawe Dhammarathana Thero of Gangaramaya Temple; members of the Maha Sangha;
Ms. Satomi Kobinata, Director of the Sri Lanka Branch of the General Foundation Yoshioka Cultural Association; representatives of the Embassy of Japan; students; parents; and distinguished guests.
The programme reflects the continued commitment of the Sri Jinarathana Vocational Training Centre to expanding educational opportunities, strengthening international cooperation and equipping Sri Lankan youth with language skills, global exposure and access to higher education.
Through initiatives of this nature, Gangaramaya Temple and the Sri Jinarathana Vocational Training Centre continue to build bridges between Sri Lanka and Japan while creating valuable opportunities for the next generation.
