All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) - the
apex body of Islamic Scholars in Sri Lanka -
was founded in the pre-independence era,
in the year 1924. The need for a body of
Islamic scholars in countries where
Muslims were a minority was felt very
strongly in that time, since proper guidance
was most needed in such places. We are
humbly delighted to note that over 90% of
the scholars in the ACJU are ho

megrown,
gaining their knowledge in Sri Lanka itself;
a country that played host to Arab nations
since long before the advent of Islam, and
has always been a welcoming paradise and
safe haven for people of all races and
creeds.
