Gratitude in Motion: Honoring the Guardians of a Century-Old Legacy

As the curtain falls on the historic Centennial tenure of the Nalanda College Buddhist Association, we look back with immense pride and express our deepest gratitude to our spiritual guides and school administration. Our heartfelt thanks go to Chief Patron Ven. Hewesse Amitha Thero and the Venerable Maha Sangha, Principal Mr. U. D. Iran Champika Silva, the Deputy Principals, Assistant Principal Mrs. Deepthi Kulathunga, and our dedicated Masters-in-Charge, Mrs. Pavithra Jayathilake and Mrs. Pradeepa Jayarathne, along with all Teachers-in-Charge for being our pillars of strength.

We also take this moment to salute our retiring mentors, including Co Master-in-Charge Mrs. Pradeepa Jayarathne, Mrs. D. S. Chethana, and our other beloved teachers, for their invaluable wisdom and lifetime of devotion to Mother Nalanda. Your guidance shaped our landmark events—from the Annual Dalada Pooja to "Prathibhavana" and "Siyak Was Gaman Maga"— and your legacy will remain forever etched in our hearts. As the sacred torch passes to the incoming committee, we pray that the supreme protection of the Samadhi Buddha Statue guides everyone's path forward.

The Conclusion of a Centennial Journey of Faith and Legacy

As the auspicious chapter of our 2025/26 term officially draws to a close, we look back at a historic milestone with hearts full of gratitude and pride. Beginning our journey in Esala 2025, it has been an absolute honor to lead and serve Mother Nalanda’s oldest and most premier association during its historic Centennial Year. Dedicated to protecting and uplifting the rich legacy, prestige, and identity of our school, our tenure was marked by landmark events from the sacred Annual Dalada Pooja, Founder’s Day Almsgiving & Light offering, Olcott almsgiving, Vesak Poson programmes to milestone celebrations like "Prathibhavana" and "Siyak Was Gaman Maga".

As the Centennial Board of Officials signs off, we extend our deepest gratitude to our venerable Maha Sangha, our Principal, administration, teachers-in-charge, and our fellow Nalandian brothers for their unwavering support. We hand over this sacred torch and wish the incoming committee the very best in guiding the next chapter. May you all be blessed by the supreme protection of the majestic & most sacred Samadhi Buddha Statue enshrined in the main Shrine Room of Nalanda College.

~ හිතාය සුඛාය සඞ්ඝස්ස ~

ලෙනත්ථඤ්ච සුඛත්ථඤ්ච,
ඣායිතුං ච විපස්සිතුං,
විහාරදානං සඞ්ඝස්ස,
අග්ගං බුද්ධේහි වණ්ණිතං.

සීතල, උෂ්ණය සහ වනසතුන්ගෙන් ආරක්ෂා වී (ධර්මය) සිතීමටත්, විදර්ශනා වැඩීමටත්, සුවසේ වාසය කිරීමටත් උපකාරී වන්නා වූ, මහා සංඝරත්නය උදෙසා කෙරෙන ආවාස (විහාර) පූජාව බුදුවරුන් විසින් අග්‍රකොට වර්ණනා කරන ලදී.

ඛුද්දක නිකාය – අපදාන පාලි

කොළඹ නාලන්දා විද්‍යාලයේ වත්මන් නියමුවාණන් වන යූ. ඩී. ඉරාන් චම්පික සිල්වා මැතිදුන් විසින් විද්‍යාලයීය බෞද්ධ සංගමයේ මූලිකත්වයෙන් ශ්‍රී. බු. ව. 2570ක් වූ පොසොන් මස 01 වන සඳු දින විද්‍යාලයේ වැඩවසනා ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේලාට අභිනව සංඝාවාසයක් පූජා කරන ලදී. මෙම පුණ්‍යක්‍රියාවට සමගාමීව සංඝගත දක්ෂිණාමය පින්කමක් ද සංවිධානයකොට තිබුණි.

මෙම පුණ්‍ය ක්‍රියාවට නන් අයුරින් අතහිත දුන් සියලු දෙනාටත්, එම කටයුත්ත දැකබලා සතුටු වූ සියලු දෙනාටත් එම ආශීර්වාද ලැබේවායි ප්‍රාර්ථනා කර සිටිමු !

මඝ මාණවකයාගේ අප්‍රමාද බව නිසාම දෙවියන්ට අධිපති ශක්‍ර දේවේන්ද්‍ර බවට පත් විය. බුද්ධාදී උත්තමයෝ සැමවිටම අප්‍රමාදී බව අගය කරති. ප්‍රමාදය සැමදා ගැරහීමට ලක් වේ.

_ධම්මපදය - අප්පමාද වග්ගය_

අප මහා බෝසතානන් වහන්සේ වන සිද්ධාර්ථ කුමාරයානන්ගේ උප්පත්තිය, බුද්ධත්වය සහ මහා පරිනිර්වාණය යන අසිරිමත් තෙමඟුල සිහිපත් කරවන වෙසක් උත්සවය බෞද්ධ අපට ඉතා වැදගත් වන්නේ ප්‍රතිපත්ති පූජාවට මුල්තැන දීමට ලැබෙන උතුම්ම අවස්ථාව නිසාවෙනි. බුදුහිමියන් අගය කළ අප්‍රමාදී ගුණය පෙරදැරි කරගෙන, මෙවර වෙසක් සමයේ සිත් පිරිසිදු කරගනිමින් ධර්මයේ හැසිරීමට කටයුතු කරමු.

තෙමඟුල් සිරි අසිරියෙන් බැබළෙන වෛශාක්‍ය මාසය නිමිත්තෙන් කොළඹ නාලන්දා විද්‍යාලයීය බෞද්ධ සංගමය සංවිධානය කරන "නාලන්දා වෛශාක්‍ය මංගල්‍යය" උදෙසා මෙවරත් සියලු කටයුතු සූදානම් කර ඇති බව ඔබ සැමට දැනුම් දෙමු.

කොළඹ නාලන්දා විද්‍යාලයේ වාර්ෂිකව සිදු කරන වෙසක් මංගල්‍යය මෙවරත් උත්සවශ්‍රීයෙන් සිදු කිරීමට සියලු කටයුතු සම්පාදනය කර හමාර ය.

උත්සවයේ ප්‍රමුඛතම අංගය වන ශ්‍රී සර්වඥ ධාතු වන්දනාමය පිංකම බුද්ධ වර්ෂ 2570 ක් වූ වෙසක් මස 22 වන කිවි දා, එනම් ව්‍යවහාර වර්ෂ 2026ක් වූ මැයි මස 22 වන සිකුරාදා හෙවත් හෙට දින පූර්වභාග 8.00 සිට අපරභාග 2.00 දක්වා නාලන්දා විද්‍යාලයීය මලලසේකර රඟහල් පරිශ්‍රයේ දී පූජෝපහාර පිදීමට නියමිතයි .🪷

බෞද්ධ සංගමයේ සංවිධාන ශක්තියෙන්, අනධ්‍යයන කාර්යමණ්ඩලයේ බැතිබර දායකත්වයෙන් හා ආදී ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ අනුග්‍රහයෙන් මෙම පුණ්‍ය මහෝත්සවය සිදුකරයි.
