On 09 August 2026, Rev. Fr. Director visited the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Sunday School, Batepola Parish, Katana Deanery.

The visit began with the celebration of Holy Mass, during which Fr. Director blessed and prayed for the students who are preparing to sit for the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.

Following the Holy Mass, Fr. Director visited the different classes of the Sunday School and interacted with the students and teachers, encouraging them in their catechetical journey and mission.

The Archdiocesan Catechetical Commission and Sub-Commission Meetings were held on 6 and 8 August at the Archbishop's House under the patronage of His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith and the Auxiliary Bishops.

Many important matters were discussed to strengthen the catechetical mission in a synodal spirit during this Parish Renewal Year, with special attention given to the recruitment and formation of new catechists for the future and to renewing faith formation in our parishes.

On 29 July, Poya Day, updating seminars for catechists and Prefects' Training Programmes were conducted throughout the Archdiocese, strengthening faith formation, leadership, and the spirit of service.
