Sacerdotal Ordination of Deacon Dilshan Shanaka Fernando OSB

With hearts filled with gratitude and joy, we joyfully announce the Sacerdotal Ordination of Deacon Dilshan Shanaka Fernando OSB on 19th September 2026 at the Chapel of the National Seminary of Our Lady of Lanka, Kandy.

The Sacred Ordination will be conferred through the Imposition of the Hands by His Lordship Sagara Jayamanne SSS, Bishop of the Diocese of Anuradhapura.

As he prepares to receive the sacred gift of the priesthood, we invite you to join us in prayer and thanksgiving, asking the Lord to grant him grace, wisdom, holiness, and strength to serve His people faithfully.

May Christ, the Eternal High Priest, guide and bless him throughout his priestly ministry.

A New Chapter of Faith and Commitment

With hearts filled with gratitude and joy, we celebrated the Simple Profession of Vows of Bro. Lash*tha Shavinda OSB, as he takes another step forward in his journey of consecrated life.

Through the profession of his vows, he joyfully embraces the Benedictine way of life, dedicating himself more deeply to God, to the Church, and to the service of His people. May the Lord strengthen him with His grace and guide him faithfully on this sacred journey.

May Sts. Benedict and Sylvester, our Holy Fathers, intercede for him, and may his life be a beautiful witness of faith, humility, prayer, and love.

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Rt. Rev. Cletus Chandrasiri Perera OSB, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Ratnapura.

A devoted shepherd, faithful servant of God, and loving father to many, he dedicated his life to the service of Christ and His Church.

Celebrating 50 Years of Priestly Ministry

Today, at St. Sylvester’s Monastery, Montefano, we joyfully celebrated the 50th Ordination Anniversary of Rev. Fr. Dr Clement Gnanapragasam OSB.

With hearts filled with gratitude, we give thanks to God for the gift of his 50 years of faithful priestly ministry, dedicated service, prayer, and love for God and His people.

This beautiful milestone is a celebration not only of the years that have passed, but also of a life generously offered in the service of Christ and His Church.

May the Lord continue to bless Fr. Clement abundantly, strengthen him in his vocation, and grant him many more years of grace, good health, joy, and fruitful ministry.

In the stillness of retreat, we were invited to pause from our daily journey, listen more deeply to God’s voice, and renew our commitment to His call.

Today, with gratitude and joy, we celebrate the Feast of our Holy Father St. Benedict, the Patriarch of Western Monasticism and the founder of the Benedictine way of life.
