A Day of Double Blessing!

Today, our community celebrated the beautiful Solemnity of Pentecost, remembering the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Church.

Adding to our joy, our Dear Brothers received the Ministries of Lector and Acolyte during the Holy Mass. We extend our heartiest congratulations and prayers to them as they take this significant step forward in their journey toward the priesthood.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide, inspire, and strengthen them in their service to God’s people!

On this Ascension Sunday, we celebrate the glorious return of Christ to the Father and His promise to remain with us always.

St. Isidore the Farmer

St. Isidore the Farmer (c. 1070–1130), known in Spanish as San Isidro Labrador, is a unique figure in the history of the Church because he was not a priest, a monk, or a martyr. Instead, he was a humble day laborer who found a path to holiness through hard work, prayer, and kindness toward animals and the poor.

St. Pachomius the Abbot

St. Pachomius (c. 292–348 AD) is a pivotal figure in Christian history, widely recognized as the founder of cenobitic monasticism—the practice of monks living together in a community rather than as solitary hermits. He is honoured as a saint in the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Coptic churches. He is often depicted in iconography holding the monastic rule or a staff, symbolizing his role as an "Abbot" who guided his spiritual children through the discipline of shared life.

St. Matthias (Feast)

St. Matthias is unique among the Apostles because he was the only one chosen to join the Twelve after the ascension of Jesus. He was selected to fill the vacancy left by Judas Iscariot, ensuring that the symbolic number of twelve apostles—representing the twelve tribes of Israel remained intact. He is the patron saint of alcoholics, carpenters, and those struggling with smallpox.

Our Lady of Fatima (Optional Memorial)

Our Lady of Fatima refers to the series of apparitions of the Virgin Mary reported in 1917 by three shepherd children—Lucia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto—in Fatima, Portugal. These events are among the most significant in the modern history of the Catholic Church. Mary's messages emphasized the need for prayer (specifically the daily Rosary), penance, and devotion to her Immaculate Heart to bring peace to the world and an end to World War I.

Sts. Nereus and Achilleus

Sts. Nereus and Achilleus are early Christian martyrs who share a feast day on May 12. While they lived during different persecutions, they are traditionally grouped together because they were all buried in cemeteries along the Via Ardeatina in Rome. Nereus and Achilleus were Roman soldiers. Their story is a powerful example of "conscientious objection" in the early Church.
