Մերձաւոր Արեւելքի Հայ Աւետարանական Եկեղեցիներու Միութեան (ՄԱՀԱԵՄ) ՀԹ. Համաժողովը տեղի ունեցաւ 21 եւ 22 Յունիս 2026ին, Պէյրութի Հայ Աւետ. Առաջին Եկեղեցիին մէջ։ Առաջին օրուայ Հանդիսաւոր Պաշտամունքը, Կիրակի երեկոյ, առիթ եղաւ Հայց. Աւետարանական Եկեղեցւոյ 180-ամեակը նշելու, ի մի հաւաքելով ոչ միայն Հայ Աւետ. Եկեղեցւոյ անդամներ, այլ նաեւ Լիբանանցի եւ Լիբանանահայ կրօնական, քաղաքական եւ ընկերային ներկայացուցիչներ։ Վեր. Դոկտ. Փօլ Հայտօսթեան, Միութեան Նախագահի Տեղապահ, իր պատգամով Համաժողովի նիւթը փոխանցեց, «Խղճի Ազատութիւն եւ Հաւատքի Յանձնառութիւն»։ (տես՝ նախկին տեղադրում)
Երկուշաբթի առաւօտ հովիւները, պատուիրակները եւ հիւրերը եկեղեցիին մէջ հաւաքուեցան իրենց գործի ժողովներու համար։ Հիւրերէն զատ, ներկայ էին 40 քուէատու անդամներ, որոնց մէկ երրորդը արտերկրէն առցանց միացան։ Բացման պաշտամունքէն ետք՝ զանազան եկեղեցիներէ, կազմակերպութիւններէ եւ անհատներէ եկած ողջոյնի գիրեր ընթերցուեցան։ Ներկաներուն նաեւ հրամցուեցաւ Համաժողովներու պատմական նկարներու ցուցադրութիւն մը, եւ ապա՝ գործի անցան, գիտակցելով թէ պարագաներու բերմամբ՝ կրճատուած օրակարգի պիտի հետեւէին։
Նախագահի եւ Կեդրոնական Մարմինի տեղեկագրերով Միութեան գործունէութիւնները ուրուագծուեցան, առիթ տալով որ Աստուծոյ նախախնամութիւնը եւ պահպանութիւնը վերյիշեն այդ բոլորին մէջ։ Բազմատեսակ ծառայութիւնները ցոյց տուին թէ՝ հակառակ տարածաշրջանի ծանր վիճակին, Միութեան եկեղեցիները, դպրոցները, համալսարանը եւ հաստատութիւնները Աստուծոյ շնորհքով Տէր Յիսուսի ձեռքերը եւ սիրտը եղան իրենց շրջապատին։ Նոյնիսկ ելեւմտական տեղեկագիրը բացայայտեց ՄԱՀԱԵՄի վայելած աստուածային նեցուկը զանազան գործակիցներու միջոցաւ. հաշիւներու ներկայացումը յիշեցումի պահ դարձաւ եկեղեցիներուն եւ պատուիրակներուն, որ աւելիով մասնակցին, հոգեպէս եւ նիւթապէս, Աստուծոյ իրենց վստահուած գործին։
Մէկ տարուայ ընթացքին այս կեանքէն հեռացող մեկնող սիրելիներու անունները ընթերցուեցան, մատնանշելով այն անձերը որոնք բեղուն աշխատանք ունեցած են միութենական կեանքէն ներս, եւ յատկապէս վերաքաղ ընելով հոգեւոր մշակներու վաստակը։ Իսկ ինչպէս ամէն համաժողովին, ՄԱՀԱԵՄի Կեդրոնական Մարմինի անդամներ ընտրուեցան՝ իրենց երեք տարուայ ծառայութեան շրջանի համար։
Նոյն իրիկունը Համաժողովի փակումը կատարուեցաւ Սբ. Հաղորդութեան պաշտամունքով։ Վեր. Դոկտ. Յարութիւն Սելիմեանի պատգամը կոչ էր գործունեայ եւ հաւատարիմ կեանքի՝ իբր Հայ Աւետարանական անհանտներ եւ եկեղեցիներ։ Վեր. Ժիրայր Ղազարեան Սբ. Սեղանի խորհուրդը մատուց, որմէ ետք ՀԹ. Համաժողովը իր աւարտին հասաւ, յուսալով եւ Աստուծոյ վստահելով թէ յաջորդ համախմբումը լրիւ անձամբ պիտի կատարուի։

The 79th General Assembly of the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East took place on 21-22 June 2026 in Beirut’s First Armenian Evangelical Church. The Celebratory Worship service on the first day, Sunday evening, noted the 180th anniversary of the Armenian Evangelical Church, during which not only members of the Armenian Evangelical church gathered, but also religious, political and societal representatives of the Lebanese and Lebanese-Armenian community. In his sermon, the Union’s Acting President, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, presented the General Assembly’s theme, “Freedom of Conscience and Responsible Faith”. (see previous post)
On Monday morning, pastors, delegates and guests gathered for their plenary sessions. Aside from guests, there were 40 voting members in attendance, a third of whom were joining online from outside Lebanon. After the opening worship, messages of greetings were read from various churches, organizations and individuals. Those physically present enjoyed a historical slide show, whereafter they began the day’s work, aware that due to current conditions they would be following an abbreviated agenda.
The Union’s activities were sketched out by way of the President’s and Central Committee’s reports, which offered an opportunity to reflect on God’s providence and protection in the midst of all that is happening. The Union’s multifaceted ministries demonstrated that despite the difficult conditions in the region, the Union’s churches, schools, university and institutions were nevertheless the hands and heart of the Lord Jesus, by God’s grace. Even the financial report demonstrated the divine strength the UAECNE enjoyed in its various endeavors. Reviewing these finances offered the churches and delegates a moment to reflect on how to increase their participation, spiritually and materially, in the work God has entrusted to them.
The names of those beloved ones who departed this life in the previous year were remembered for the faithful and productive efforts they made in the life of the Union, in particular reviewing the legacy of pastoral and lay leaders. As is done each General Assembly, UAECNE Central Committee members were elected for their three-year terms of service.
That evening the General Assembly concluded with a Service of Holy Communion. Rev. Dr. Haroutune Selimian’s sermon was a call to active and faithful living as Armenian Evangelical individuals and churches. Rev. Jirair Ghazarian officiated at the Lord’s Table, after which the 79th General Assembly concluded, with the hope that trusting in God, the next gathering would take place fully in-person.
