Today, the second Sunday in Lent, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of Safe Harbour Lutheran Church / Lutheran Missions in the Cayman Islands. It was also Pastor Paul’s last Divine Service at Safe Harbour. He and Heidi have served Safe Harbour the last five years and will continue serving the Lord in Lima, Peru. Saying goodbye is always hard but we find comfort in God’s continual presence in His means of grace: Word and Sacrament, uniting us to each other across time and space in His promises to everlasting life. We continue to pray that our Lord send another faithful pastor to shepherd the dear flock at Safe Harbour.

A blessed Ash Wednesday to all! ✝️ We had four visiting couples with us (two from cruise ships!) 💜

Today we celebrated the Transfiguration of our Lord. Jesus revealed to us that He is truly human and truly divine and God the Father called down from the cloud that we are to listen to Him.

Today, the 5th Sunday after the Epiphany, we received God’s gifts at the parsonage as the community center wasn’t available to us this morning. It was good to hear that we, as redeemed and forgiven children of God, are free to choose to fast during Lent or other times to focus our attention on Christ and what he’s done for us and on serving our neighbor in Christian love.

It was good to have visitors with us again.

Today, the fourth Sunday after the Epiphany, we heard about the Beatitudes: “Blessed are the poor in spirit” - meaning we remain beggars before God but at the same time are richly blessed by His presence in the means of grace in Word and Sacrament, and giving us His forgiveness, eternal life and strengthening of faith to lead a God-pleasing life!
Once again, it was wonderful having several visitors with us today!

Today, the third Sunday after the Epiphany, we heard that Jesus calls us to follow Him in the ordinary-ness of our everyday lives. He also gives us what’s needed to be able to do this through repentance and forgiveness in Word and Sacrament.

It was so good to have so many guests with us this morning!

A lovely and blessed Christmas Eve service on the beach! The wind and rain before the service didn’t prevent over a hundred people from attending. Just before the homily, a sudden short cloudburst sent everyone scrambling for cover either under a roof or umbrella or even back home, but thanks be to God most returned for the rest of the service. During the last carol “Silent Night” they spontaneously rose one by one in honor of the Christchild. Christ the Savior is born! 🎄🎶✨
