지난주 희년다문화교회는 부활절을 맞아 서로의 간증을 나누며 예배 드렸습니다.
“예수님의 부활은 화려하고 요란한 승리주의와 같지 않았습니다. 오히려 새벽 어스름 같이 고요했습니다. 그러나 새벽빛이 어둠을 몰아내고 아침을 열어젖히는 것처럼, 예수님의 부활은 어둠을 확실히 몰아내셨습니다. 로마제국의 압제와 불의와 폭력은 힘을 잃고, 하나님의 사랑과 정의와 환대는 피어나기 시작했습니다. 제국 안에서 어그러지고 분열된 관계는 내려앉고, 조건 없는 사랑의 관계가 일어나기 시작했습니다. 억눌린 자들의 울분과 절망과 트라우마는 위로를 받고, 하나님이 지으신 모든 자를 위한 기쁨과 생명력이 솟아오르기 시작했습니다…
오늘 우리는 새벽빛 같은 고요하지만 확실한 부활을 마주합니다. 예수님의 부활은 말씀하십니다. 전쟁과 폭력이, 각자도생과 생존경쟁의 논리가 지배하는 어두운 시대 현실을 넘어, 그리고 그로부터 내면화된 우리 영혼의 아픔과 어둠을 넘어, 다르게 살 수 있다고. 하나님의 사랑의 나라가 이미 시작되었으니, 환대와 나눔이 중심이 되고 기쁨과 웃음이 퍼져나가는 삶, 자기다움을 피워내며 자연스럽게 사랑하는 성숙하고 존엄한 삶을, 살 수 있다고. 어두운 시대에 끌려다니며 메마르는 삶이 아니라, 예수님을 따라 사랑의 공동체로 생명과 평화를 풍성히 이루는 삶이 가능하다고. 그렇게 말씀합니다.” (부활절 간증나눔 인트로 중)
Last week, we had a great Easter testimonial service.
“Jesus’ resurrection was not like a flashy and noisy triumphalism. Rather, it was quiet, like the dim light of dawn. And yet, just as the light of dawn drives out the darkness and opens the morning, Jesus’ resurrection surely drove out the darkness. The oppression, injustice, and violence of the Roman Empire began to lose their power, and God’s love, justice, and hospitality began to blossom. The distorted and fractured relationships under the empire began to fall away, and relationships renewed by God’s unconditional love began to rise. The resentment, despair, and trauma of the oppressed began to be comforted, and joy, hope, and vitality for all whom God has made began to spring up...
Today, we encounter the resurrection—quiet, yet certain, like the light of dawn. Jesus’ resurrection speaks to us today. It tells us that beyond an age of darkness ruled by war and violence, and beyond the pain and darkness internalized in our souls, we can live differently. Because God’s reign has already begun, we can live a life in which hospitality and sharing are at the center, a life in which joy and laughter spread, a life of mature and dignified humanity in which we grow into our true selves and love naturally. We do not have to live dragged around by a dark age until our souls run dry. In following Jesus, it is possible to live as a beloved community, bringing forth life and peace in abundance.”
