"Let There Be Light"

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1

To believe Genesis 1:1 means this:

My life did not begin by accident.
My existence is not without purpose.
My life began in the hands of God.

There is One who created me,
One who knows me,
and One who leads my life.

“By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command.” Hebrews 11:3

God’s creation has two dimensions.

First, God creates something out of nothing.
Second, God brings order, meaning, and light to what already exists.

In Genesis 1:2, we see three words:
Formless. Empty. Darkness.

And through them, we see three principles of God’s creative work.

1. God brings order in the midst of chaos.

When God’s Word comes, chaos begins to find order.
An anxious heart can be settled.
Scattered thoughts can be restored.
Broken priorities can be realigned.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” John 14:27
God still brings order into our chaos.

2. God gives meaning in the midst of emptiness.

A person can have many things and still feel empty inside.
Achievement, recognition, and possessions cannot fully satisfy the deepest place of the heart.

We were created to be filled with God.

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”
John 1:14

Through Jesus Christ,
our emptiness is filled with God’s love and life.

3. God shines light in the midst of darkness.

Everyone faces seasons where the way ahead feels unclear.

But even when darkness was over the deep,
the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Then God said, “Let there be light.” Genesis 1:3

Darkness is not stronger than the Word of God.
Despair is not stronger than the work of the Holy Spirit.
Wounds are not stronger than the light of Jesus.

“I am the light of the world.” John 8:12

God is still creating today.
Chaos becomes order.
Emptiness becomes fullness.
Darkness becomes light.

“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth.” Isaiah 65:17

Let there be light.
Let there be light in your life.

Sunday Sermon Recap
“The Holy Spirit Who Heals”
(Isaiah 61:1–4)

The core message of today’s sermon was this:
When the Holy Spirit comes, healing and restoration become real.

When the Spirit of God comes, change begins.
The gospel is heard again.
Wounded hearts begin to heal.
Those who are bound begin to be set free.
Broken places begin to be rebuilt.
And sorrow begins to turn into joy.

First, when the Holy Spirit comes, we hear the gospel again.
The Word we once knew only in our minds begins to enter deep into our hearts.
When this gospel is heard again, hardened hearts begin to come alive.

Second, when the Holy Spirit comes, wounded hearts are healed.
The Holy Spirit sees the wounds we could not tell anyone about.
He knows the tears we have held back for a long time.
And He touches the places that were broken inside.

Third, when the Holy Spirit comes, bo***ge is broken.
Fear, guilt, past failures, sickness, and the pain of relationships begin to lose their power in the presence of God.

2 Corinthians 3:17
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Where the Holy Spirit is, there is freedom.
Your wounds do not define your identity.
Fear does not define your destiny.
In Jesus Christ, you have the freedom the Holy Spirit gives.

Fourth, when the Holy Spirit comes, broken places are rebuilt.
God restores the places that have been devastated for a long time.
Do not give up just because the problem has been there for a long time.
When the Holy Spirit works, those places can be rebuilt.

Finally, when the Holy Spirit comes, worship is restored.
The praise we had lost comes alive again.
Gratitude begins to flow again.
The heart that was broken can stand before God again.

Today’s message was clear:

The Holy Spirit helps us hear the gospel again.
The Holy Spirit heals wounded hearts.
The Holy Spirit breaks bo***ge.
The Holy Spirit rebuilds broken places.
The Holy Spirit restores worship.

Holy Spirit, come upon us and fill us.
Let us hear the gospel again.
Touch our wounded hearts with the love of Jesus.
Break every bo***ge.
Rebuild what has been broken.
Restore praise and worship in us again.

Sunday Sermon Recap "In the Name of Jesus"

The core message of today’s sermon was the authority in the name of Jesus.

The name of Jesus is more than a phrase we say at the end of a prayer.
His name carries heavenly authority, the authority of the Kingdom of God, and power that moves the spiritual realm.

“Jesus” means God saves, and “Christ” means the Anointed One.

Jesus is the King who reigns over sin, death, and every power of darkness.
He is the Prophet who reveals the heart and Word of God.
He is the High Priest who leads us before God.

And God has given the authority of the name of Jesus to those who believe.

Mark 16:17–18
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

John 1:12
“To those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”

Acts 3:6
“In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

Authority rests in the name of Jesus.
Demons flee at the name of Jesus.
Healing is released in the name of Jesus.
Restoration comes in the name of Jesus.

Luke 10:17
“Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your name.”

The anointing of Jesus flows to us through the Holy Spirit.
Being filled with the Holy Spirit is the channel through which the authority of Jesus’ name flows.

When the Holy Spirit moves, healing is released, restoration happens, discernment comes, and boldness for the truth rises up.

Today’s message was simple:

Use the authority in the name of Jesus by faith.

In the name of Jesus, restoration happens.
In the name of Jesus, chains are broken.
In the name of Jesus, fear leaves.
In the name of Jesus, healing happens.

May we walk in victory this week, holding onto the authority of the name of Jesus.

In the Name of Jesus.

Spiritual warfare starts within before it becomes external. And when we win this inner battle, God will take care of what’s outside.�God wants to first deal with the Jericho of fear and the Ai of pride within us.
�So today, let us pray like this.�“God, if there is any pride in me that has forgotten Your grace, break it down.”�“Lord, lead me to repentance and restore holiness so that I may live in Your presence.”
�When you win the battle within, God will bring down the Jericho outside. Awesome Church, I bless you to be victorious in this battle.

어쩌면 지금 여러분 삶 가운데 해결되지 않은 문제가 있을 수 있습니다. 영적 전쟁은 외적인 전쟁이기 전에 먼저 내적인 전쟁입니다.
우리가 이 내면의 전쟁에서 승리하면, 밖에 있는 문제들은 하나님이 하나하나 바꿔 가십니다.
하나님은 먼저 두려움의 여리고와 교만의 아이성과 같은 죄의 문제를 다루기 원하십니다.

그러므로 오늘 우리는 이렇게 기도합시다.
“하나님, 은혜를 잊고 교만해진 마음이 있다면 꺾어 주옵소서.”
“주님, 죄를 회개하게 하시고, 하나님이 함께하실 수 있는 거룩함을 회복하게 하셔서, 하나님의 임재 가운데 살아가게 하옵소서.”

그렇게 내면에서 승리하면, 하나님이 밖의 여리고를 무너뜨리실 것입니다. 이 싸움에서 승리하는 어썸처치 여러분들이 되시기를 축복합니다.

🌿 Sunday Sermon Recap
“Lay Down Pride, Walk in Holiness”
(Joshua 7:1~ 8:1)

As we concluded our Joshua series, we were reminded:
Before God’s promise is fulfilled, there is always a battle.

But the real battle is not only outside of us.
The real battle is within.

Israel won at Jericho, but fell at Ai.
Why?

1️⃣ Pride
“We can handle this.”

They stopped depending on God.
They didn’t even ask God.

👉 The humble pray. The proud don’t ask God.

2️⃣ Sin
Holding on to what should have been surrendered to God

Holiness is not about rules.
Holiness is getting our hearts right before God so that He can be with us.

When we cut off sin and choose holiness,
God is with us—and He gives us victory.

🔥 Revival starts within.
Expansion starts within.
Victory starts within.
