“𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏”

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." — Matthew 28:19

In this Sunday’s Gospel, we experience the final moments Jesus shares with His disciples before His ascension. It’s a powerful transition from followers to leaders. But if you read closely, there’s a small, incredibly human detail in verse 17 that always stands out: "When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted."

Isn’t that so true to our own lives?

Right alongside great faith, we often carry small pockets of doubt, fear, or feelings of inadequacy. We think, "Who am I to share the Gospel? I don’t have it all figured out yet."
But here is the beautiful truth: Jesus didn't wait for them to be perfect before sending them out. He chose ordinary, flawed, and hesitant people to carry His message to the ends of the earth. He does the exact same with us today.
He doesn't ask for a perfect theology degree; He just asks for a willing heart.

And the best part? We don't go alone. His final promise in this Gospel is everything we need to push past our fears: "And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

Whatever "mission territory" you are walking into this week—whether it’s your workplace, your school, your family, or just navigating your own personal struggles—remember that His power goes with you.

How can we live out this commission today?
By letting our love, kindness, and patience be the first way people experience the heart of Jesus.✨🙏

The Eucharistic Celebration was presided by His Excellency, 𝘽𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥 𝙋𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙤𝙣 𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙮 (Coadjutor Vicar Apostolic of Phnom Penh) together with 𝘽𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥 𝙊𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙚𝙪𝙨𝙡𝙚𝙧, 𝙈𝙀𝙋 (Apostolic Vicar of Phnom Penh), 𝙍𝙚𝙫. 𝙁𝙧. 𝙋𝙚𝙙𝙧𝙤 𝙀𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙤 𝙍𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙯, 𝙎𝙈𝙀 our Parish Priest and the whole clergy of Diocese of Phnom Penh — Vicariate Apostolic.

𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒇 𝑯𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑳𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒆𝒌𝒐𝒏𝒈 ✨

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆: The statue of Our Lady of Lourdes was discovered in the Mekong River on April 16, 2008. It was found by a group of fishermen, consisting of a Khmer Muslim and eight Vietnamese men.

𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻: The statue's exact origin remains unknown, but it is believed to have been thrown into the water during the religious persecutions and conflicts that ravaged the country in the 1970s. It spent over 30 years submerged in the river.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: After the discovery, the local pastoral council bought the statue from the fishermen for $500 (2 million Riel).

However, after having a vision of a woman resembling the statue flying over their boat, the fishermen returned the money in fear.
The council used those funds to provide them with ongoing food supplies.

𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Given the context of its miraculous recovery, the Christian community began referring to the icon as "𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗴" It is celebrated as a symbol of peace, spiritual maternal care for the region and divine protection.

𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗴 🙏🏻✨🤍

O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Our Lady of the Mekong, Mother of God and our tender Mother, we come to you with confidence and love.
Just as the mighty Mekong River brings life, nourishment, and grace to our lands, so do you bring the unfailing love and grace of your Son, Jesus Christ, to our souls.

We consecrate to your Immaculate Heart our families, our communities, and our nation.
Watch over all who live, work, and travel along these waters. Protect us from all dangers, both physical and spiritual. Queen of Peace, intercede for us and for the whole world.

Eliminate hatred, heal the wounds of the past, and teach us true forgiveness. Help us to be instruments of God’s love, unity, and compassion in our daily lives. Mary, Star of the Sea and Our Lady of the Mekong, guide our steps along the path of faith, hope, and charity, and lead us safely to eternal life with your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

In John 14:1-12, Jesus speaks right into our anxieties, our doubts, and our fears about the future. He doesn’t just give us a roadmap; He tells us, "I am the way, the truth, and the life."

Following Him isn't about having all the answers or a perfect, trouble-free life. It’s about trusting the One who has already prepared a place for us. When the world feels chaotic, His promise remains steady.

We’ve all had those "Emmaus" moments—walking away from a situation feeling defeated, confused, or like God has gone silent. In today’s Gospel, two disciples are doing exactly that. They are heartbroken, discussing the death of Jesus, unaware that the very person they are mourning is walking right beside them.

Isn't that so much like our lives? We get so caught up in our "Good Friday" heartaches that we fail to see the "Easter Sunday" standing next to us.

In John 20, Jesus doesn't meet the disciples’ fear or abandonment with "Where were you?" Instead, He offers His peace and His wounds. Today, on Divine Mercy Sunday, we celebrate that no doubt is too deep and no mistake is too big for His ocean of mercy. Let His light break through your locked doors today.
