800 SOULS FOR JESUS-RENDILLE MISSION: BACK TO NAIROBI SAFELY!! Dear friends, I'm writing this note with tears of joy on our trip to Rendille mission to Korr near Marsabit in NE Kenya from 15-18 Jan. Fear of insecurity, distance & hot weather stopped many from joining us and deprived of God's blessings! But Johnson Mwai & Evg Paul Ojwang took the courage to join me to travel more than 1100 Kms in a small saloon car. Road to Logologo via Thika, Nyeri, Nanyuki, Isiolo, Archers Post, Merille & Laisamis was good but the last strip of 65 Kms was a desert of sand, stones & Acacia trees. No cultivation, no inhabitants anywhere to be seen! Occasionally, we could see a herd of goat or sheep or camels and the shepherds ran to us begging for little maji (water). We shared what we could. On reaching Korr, our 'Baby Car' was the talk of town as no one takes courage to go there in such cars. We took all the risk and pain for the glory of God! And the end result was unimaginable!! 800 souls for Jesus! Around 300 Rendille tribal men and women & over 500 Rendille students at AIC Tirrim Primary School gave their lives to Jesus. Praise God! As there was great joy in the city of Samaria because of Evg Philip (Acts 8:4-8) the whole town of Korr rejoiced with us!
Our DESIRE to share gospel, COURAGE to accept challenges, combined with your PRAYERS & some FINANCE to cover the expenses, made it possible to achieve the goal. We carried few bags of maize and some used clothes and shoes for the poor people of that area. We got a simple Manyatta guest house for stay. There was no electricity or water but the 'believer owner' provided us half bucket of stored rain water everyday to bath and a small solar light connection. We had everyday devotion in the guest house with the owner and some staff members. She reminded us that we came to Korr to water the seeds which has already been sowed by missionaries about 35-40 years before. Mr & Mrs Patrick Ochieng who invited us to Korr provided us food all these days. I carried for myself pickles & green chillies to eat the spice-less African food. 7 believers from Philadelphia, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, South Sudan & Kenya shared with us the expenses. You may wonder to hear that the total expense for 4 days mission was so small considering the souls got saved. We spent only about 50 Kshs (1/2 US$) average for each soul! What a joy it was to see Rendille people for Jesus! We are grateful to all who encouraged us, prayed for us and contributed to meet our mission expenses. Truly you did a Kingdom investment! May God add great blessings in your life! They want us to go back again there. The Macedonian call! We left it to God for His time and will.! With regards..
