Every person should be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God; the authorities that exist have been determined by God.
13:1 This does not mean that all rulers and government officials are good men who obey God. (When Paul wrote these words one of the worst emperors the Romans – or any nation – ever had, Nero, was in power.) But in spite of their errors, sins, failures, and corruption, governments are appointed by God (Ps 75:2-7; Dan 4:34-35). Sometimes God will permit evil rulers to gain power as a punishment to a people for their sins. But even a bad government is better than no government at all. Anarchy – a complete breakdown of government – is the worst state to which a country can come, for then there is no governing power to restrain any evil.
It is the duty of Christians to obey their government because God has appointed it (vs 2,5,7). There is one exception to this rule – if the laws of a country or the commands of certain officials are contrary to the Word of God, believers should disobey men and obey God. See Acts 4:18-20; 5:28-29.⚜

1) When you start speaking out of emotions..
Pro 29:11
Words spoken from anger, pride can undo what discipline has built.

2) You casually speak negative words about yourself
Pro 18:21

3) You feel pressure to respond immediately.
James 1:19

4) You begin to complain alot.

5) You begin to repeat negative report even when you know better
Num 13:32

6) You talk too much.

STOP THINKING THE CHURCH DEPENDS ON YOU.

A lot of people feel that if they leave the church, everything will fall apart. Some think:

“If I don’t serve as choir master, the service will be boring.”

“If I don’t play the keyboard, who will?”

“If I don’t sing, heaven won’t come down.”

Some even threaten to leave when they are corrected, as if the church cannot survive without them.

Let me remind you: ever since Satan was cast out of heaven with one third of the angels, heaven has never been missing him. Heaven has never declared a vacancy, and the host of angels continues to enjoy perfect communion with God.

INFACT I STILL WANT TO UNDERSTAND THE MYSTERY WHY OUR FORGIVING GOD STILL KEEPS HIM AS SATAN WITHOUT FORGIVING HIM.

The church of God is not about you. Jesus Christ is the Head. The Bible says, “I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18)

So anyone who thinks that without them the church cannot move forward is living in a dangerous illusion. God’s work does not depend on your presence, it depends on His power, His plan, and His gifts.

Take this seriously: God’s church moves forward with or without you. Serve faithfully, but don’t be deluded into thinking you are indispensable.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THOSE WHO JUMP FROM ONE CHURCH TO ANOTHER.
NB:Not everyone who changes churches is wrong.
(1). They Often Avoid Accountability.
Many church hoppers dislike correction and discipline. They leave when leadership begins to confront hidden issues or challenge their growth.
(2). They Carry Unhealed Offenses.
Instead of resolving issues, they escape. Wherever they go, they take offense with them like luggage, poisoning every new relationship.
(3). They Want Position Without Process.
They desire the microphone, title, or platform but refuse to be trained, tried, or proven.
(4). They Struggle with Submission.
True discipleship requires submission to godly leadership. Those who hop from church to church usually reject spiritual authority.
(5). They Are Easily Influenced.
A little gossip, disagreement, or social media trend can sway them. Stability in Christ requires more maturity than popularity.
(6). They Confuse Activity with Growth.
Being busy in multiple churches doesn’t equal spiritual maturity. Real growth happens in consistency and obedience.
(7). They Rarely Bear Fruit.
Just like a plant constantly uprooted never grows deep roots, these individuals struggle to bear lasting spiritual fruit.
(8). They Often Leave a Trail of Division.
Many leave not quietly, but with gossip, bitterness, or efforts to draw others away—sowing discord in the body of Christ.
(9). They Miss the Blessing of Covenant Fellowship.
God places us in spiritual families for purpose. Constant jumping robs them of lasting relationships and divine covering.
(10). They Need Healing and Teaching.
Not condemnation, but correction. Many of them need love, deliverance, and sound teaching to be restored to stability.
“Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.” (Psalm 92:13)

HOW TO RESPECT YOUR PASTOR.

■ GUARD YOUR WORDS
Avoid gossip and criticism.

Ecclesiastes 10:20 (KJV) – “Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice…”

Speaking negatively behind your pastor weakens respect and can cause division.

Address issues respectfully.
If correction or feedback is necessary, do it in private and with humility, not publicly.

■ HONOR THEIR ROLE, NOT JUST THEIR PERSONALITY

Hebrews 13:17 (NIV) – “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account.”

Even if you don’t always agree with your Pastor’s style or personality, respect the calling and office they occupy.

■ DON'T COMPETE WITH YOUR PASTOR

Avoid trying to prove you know more Bible or have more spiritual gifts.

Numbers 12:1-10 – Miriam and Aaron disrespected Moses by questioning his authority, and God judged them.

■ SUPPORT, DON'T UNDERMINE

Don’t start side conversations, groups, or movements in the church that go against his vision.

1 Thessalonians 5:12–13 (NLT) – “Honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work.”

■ RESPECT THEIR TIME AND PRIVACY

Don’t demand constant attention or call at odd hours unless it’s an emergency.

Give them space for family, prayer, and rest.

■ OBEY INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE PULPIT

2 Kings 5:13-14 – Naaman almost missed his miracle because he disrespected Elisha’s instruction.

Pastors are spiritual guides; ignoring their counsel is indirectly showing dishonor.

■ DON'T FAMILIARIZE TO THE POINT OF DISHONOR

Being close to your Pastor astor doesn’t mean treating him like a buddy.

Mark 6:4 (KJV) – Jesus said, “A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country…”

Familiarity can block blessings.

■ BE A HELPER, NOT A BURDEN

Instead of always complaini

S***m and Gomorrah: why were they destroyed?
S***m and Gomorrah are two well known places in the Bible. S***m was the place where Lot, Abraham's brother, initially choose to dwell. Regarding the area, Genesis 13:10 tells us that it was "well watered everywhere ......... like the garden of the Lord". Evidently, it was a very rich and fertile land. Its people were probably wealthy and their welfare level was high relative to other areas. They did not have food or water shortages as their land was fertile and well watered. It was these characteristics that attracted Lot and made him to choose this place to dwell. As Genesis 13:10 tells us: Lot "lifted his eyes and saw", making his choice according to what he saw. However, what we may see by "lifting our eyes", though may look excellent, it may not be what the Lord sees with His own eyes (I Samuel 16:7). And really, what Lot saw, was greatly different of what the Lord saw by looking into the hearts. Really, in Genesis 13:13 we read:

Genesis 13:13
"But the men of S***m were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord"

Though what the Lot saw was an excessively fertile land, what the Lord saw was an excessively dirty heart. As He says in Genesis 18:20:

Genesis 18:20
"Because the outcry against S***m and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave"

At the end, after the Lord saved Lot, He destroyed S***m and Gomorrah. When Lot was leaving S***m, the advice of the Lord was the exact opposite of what he had done in the beginning:

Genesis 19:17
"so it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he [the angel of the Lord] said, "Escape for your life! DO NOT LOOK BEHIND..."

When Lot choose S***m as his dwelling place, he made his choice after he "lifted his eyes and saw". Now he was to flee and "never look behind". After Lot left, the Lord destroyed the area.

However, what was the sin of S***m? Ezekiel 16:49-50 tells us what the Lord saw:

Ezekiel 16:49-50
"Look, this was the iniquity of your sister S***m: she and her daughter HAD PRIDE, FULNESS OF FOOD, AND ABUNDANCE OF IDLENESS; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and committed abomination before me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit"

It impressed me greatly when I saw that "fullness of food and abundance of idleness [rest]" were, together with pride, among the things that composed "the iniquity of S***m"1. And though pride is generally rejected, at least outwardly, this does not happen with the other two: the fullness of food and the abundance of rest. In contrast, these are many times considered, even by Christians, as aims. Of course we do not say that we should be weary and hungry. What we say though is that fullness of food and abundance of rest, in contrast to what the world says: ARE NOT things we should pursue after. In contrast, what we should pursue is the Lord, His Word and His purposes. The center and the purpose of our life is not idleness and riches but to do the will of God. To know and make known the Father and His wonderful Son the Lord Jesus Christ. As S***m ceased to exist, this world will also one day cease to exist. And as the Lord took Lot out of that place and then He destroyed it, so also He will take us out of this world, before He does the same to it.

Let's us therefore be ready and watchful. The Lord is coming. And "as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of S***m it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed..... ....Remember Lot's wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it." (Luke 17:28-33).

And Jesus in answer said to them, “Have faith in God. For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed, and thrown into the sea’, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will take place, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever you ask for when you pray, believe that you will receive it, and you will have it. ”
