"We have a moral and spiritual duty to ensure that the full truth about what happened comes to light. The death of a pastor cannot be shrouded in silence or uncertainty. Truth is an act of justice towards Osório, towards his people, and towards our mission itself."

Superior General of Consolata Missionaries

"A CHURCH WITHOUT WALLS"
On 7th June, during the celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi, Nairobi's Central Business District witnessed an extraordinary public expression of Catholic faith as thousands of young Catholics gathered in the city streets. After mass from their various Parishes. What began as a Catholic a Catholic playlist vibe. transformed the heart of the city into what many described as a "cathedral without walls." The young people sang Catholic hymns with remarkable enthusiasm, danced joyfully, and participated in Catholic praise and worship with a sense of unity that captured the attention of passers-by. Their ability to sing numerous Catholic songs from memory led some non-Catholics to wonder whether all Catholics were choir members because of the confidence, harmony, and enthusiasm with which they participated.
Observers noted that the gathering challenged many stereotypes often associated with young people in modern society. At a time when many assume that youth are becoming less religious, the event demonstrated that many young Kenyans remain deeply spiritual, committed to their faith, and eager to express their love for God publicly. The atmosphere was characterized not by division but by togetherness, respect, and mutual support. Young men and women from different ethnic communities, social backgrounds, and regions came together as one family in Christ, showing that faith can unite people beyond tribal, cultural, and economic differences.
Several witnesses expressed admiration for the gathering, with some acknowledging that they had previously received negative or misleading information about Catholics. Seeing thousands of joyful believers worshipping together peacefully led them to appreciate the strength of Catholic spirituality and community life. The event became a living testimony that faith is not merely practiced within church buildings but can be witnessed wherever believers gather in the name of God.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the gathering was the spirit of fraternity displayed among the participants. Many of the young people had never met before, yet they interacted as friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. They sang together, encouraged one another, shared space respectfully, and celebrated their common faith without concern for tribal identity, social status, or personal differences. Such gatherings demonstrate the power of Christian values in promoting peace, unity, and social harmony within society.
The event also highlighted the compassionate nature of many young Catholics. Those who participate in such gatherings are often known for their willingness to assist others, whether through charitable works, community service, emotional support, or simple acts of kindness. The spirit witnessed during the Corpus Christi celebration reflected a generation that values human dignity, solidarity, and care for one another. Their actions showed that authentic faith inspires people not only to worship God but also to serve their neighbours.
In conclusion, the Corpus Christi celebration in Nairobi CBD served as a powerful reminder that faith remains alive among Kenya's youth. The gathering demonstrated that young Catholics are not only religious but also deeply spiritual, joyful, welcoming, and united. Their public witness showed that they can transform any place into a space of prayer, fellowship, and celebration. Through their songs, prayers, and love for one another, they offered a message of hope that faith continues to inspire young people to build communities founded on unity, compassion, and the love of Christ.
