Father, Your law is perfect, and I confess that I have not measured up to Your righteousness. You have shown me the reality of my own sin. And I thank You that You have made a way for me to be justified despite my sin, by sending Jesus to give me the righteousness that I could not achieve on my own. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Wow, it sounds impossible to do. Does this Bible verse mean that God expects us to pray 24/7? Let's look at other Bible translations of 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and discover how we can apply this to our prayer lives today.

"Pray Without Ceasing" Translations
"Pray continually" (NIV)
"Pray all the time" (MSG)
"Never stop praying" (NLT)

"Pray Without Ceasing" Bible Passage
This well-known Bible phrase comes from Apostle Paul's epistle to the Thessalonians. Here is the surrounding text to see this phrase in its biblical context:

We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:12-22 NKJV)

In Paul's writings, words such as "rejoice always" (1 Thess 5:16), "without ceasing" (1 Thess 5:17), or "give thanks in all circumstances" (1 Thess 5:18) refer primarily to prayer.

The Christian tradition teaches that unceasing prayer is a proper goal, for spiritual growth comes through such discipline. We can use the simple Jesus Prayer, "Lord have mercy on me, a sinner," to continually pray from the heart, seeking God's mercy and grace.

To "pray without ceasing" is to live with God in our hearts and minds, giving thanks for all things and relying on Him for strength.

Bible Meaning of 1 Thessalonians 5
A life devoted to religion is a life filled with constant joy. We would experience even more joy if we prayed more often. Prayer can be helpful in advancing all lawful business and every good work. If we maintain a habit of ceaseless prayer, we will not lack reasons to be thankful for everything.

We should express gratitude for all how we have been spared, protected, and blessed, whether in ordinary or extraordinary circumstances, both in the past and present. This includes both material and spiritual blessings, as well as times of adversity and hardship, which are intended for our benefit, even if we don't understand this at the moment.

Do not suppress the Spirit. According to Christian belief, individuals are baptized with the Holy Ghost and with fire. The Holy Spirit works like fire in the sense that it enlightens, enlivens, and purifies people's souls. Just as fire is extinguished by removing its fuel, and as it is put out by pouring water or adding a lot of earth onto it, we must not suppress the Holy Spirit by indulging in carnal desires and affections, only focusing on earthly matters.

Believers sometimes hinder their spiritual growth by not fully embracing the spiritual emotions that the Holy Spirit awakens in their hearts. In this context, prophesying refers to the preaching of the word and the interpretation and application of the Scriptures. We should not disregard preaching, even if it seems simple and doesn't offer new information. Instead, we should endeavor to study the Scriptures and test everything, holding fast to what is good.

We should refrain from sin, and anything that resembles sin can lead to it and come close to it. If someone is not cautious of the signs of sin, avoids the occurrences of it, and does not stay away from the temptations and approaches to it, they will not be able to avoid sinning long.

In all this what can we say ..... Thus far the lord

Father God, thank You for sending Jesus, and for the light that You bring into my life through him, and for opening my eyes to see Your glory revealed in him. Please shine through me so that I may reflect Your glory and others may see You and know You as well. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord, I begin this new day celebrating Your love. You have been good to me, and I rejoice that You have given me this new day. When I stumble, help me to turn back to You. When I am pressed by stress and conflict, be my place of refuge. May nothing rob me of the joy of knowing that this day is Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It’s easy for us to say that God is perfect and that because He is perfect, His ways and His word are perfect. But what does God’s perfection actually mean for us, who are not perfect? It means that we can take refuge in His word and that we can trust in His ways. His perfection shields us like nothing else can because God alone is unable to fail.
Lord, I come to Your word and Your presence seeking to know Your ways. Please guide me in Your perfect truth, and shield me in Your perfect love. My thinking is faulty, and my ways are prone to fail, so I depend on You, Lord. Thank You for the wisdom and refuge that I find in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord, I confess that it is my nature to seek easy paths and comfort. When hardship comes, I look for a quick solution. Help me to endure trials, Lord, for Your sake. Help me to lean on Your love and Your desire that I would grow into maturity. Give me the wisdom to learn from times of hardship so that I may be more prepared to live for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Morning sermon
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 chronicles 7:14

Inspiration
Part of being a Christian is humbling ourselves and realizing that without God, our lives truly mean nothing. We are to acknowledge that we have made a conscious choice to turn away from the bad deeds and sinful habits, and we have turned to the holy life God has presented before us.

Prayer in regards to the sermon
Father, I humbly present myself as one who has chosen to turn away from their sinful ways. It is a choice I made when I chose to follow you and Lord, it is a choice I intend to abide in. Father, help me to walk in a way that is worthy of this calling. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Amen

In ancient times God spoke to men by the mouth of prophets and apostles. In these days He speaks to them by the Testimonies of His Spirit. There was never a time when God instructed His people more earnestly than He instructs them now concerning His will and the course that He would have them pursue. ML 40.6

You basic wants are not always your immediate needs.

You may want luxury things such as fine car, mansion, big business empire, a life of flair and abundance which are part of your possessions in Christ as a son or daughter but these things are only temporal *(2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.)*

The *primary need* of everyone is to seek *first* the kingdom God; in complete obedience, holiness and righteousness then the things that we want (if it's the will of God) will be added unto you.

Let the wants of God be your need and your ways will be prosperous.

Good morning!

temptations
sources of temptation
1. world
2. mind
3. satan

world (1st john 2;16)

‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[16] For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

satan (genesis 3;1)

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[1] Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

satan inform of a serpent tempts eve to eat fron the tree of life that God had told them not to eat from.

encouragement when we get tempted.

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[13] No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

,‭‭James‬ ‭1:13‭-‬15‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[13] When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; [14] but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. [15] Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

we pass through temptations in form of challenges and God meets us inside the problem and not out of the problem ... the most critical point God meets man is when man is at his. lowest ... to be safe we should invite God into our problem .coz the precense of God signifies change .it signifies safety .the only way to take and conquer a problem is when jesus is part of the problem .

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‭-‬6‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; [6] in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

if we leave our understanding and trust in God fully he will make straight our path

Question can a problem be a problem when God is in it?

1st Samuel 1;9-11 the story of hannah

🥀‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭1:9‭-‬11‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[9] Once when they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh, Hannah stood up. Now Eli the priest was sitting on his chair by the doorpost of the Lord’s house. [10] In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. [11] And she made a vow, saying, “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”

Genesis 28;16-22 the story of jacob dreaming about the staircase from heaven.

🥀‭‭Genesis‬ ‭28:16‭-‬22‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[16] When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” [17] He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.” [18] Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it. [19] He called that place Bethel, though the city used to be called Luz. [20] Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear [21] so that I return safely to my father’s household, then the Lord will be my God [22] and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.”

Jacob made a covenant with God that if he would be with him through his journey so that he returns to his father's house safethen he will acknowledge God as his lord

Judges 11;30-39 Jephthah making a promise to God

🥀‭‭Judges‬ ‭11:30‭-‬39‬ ‭NIV‬‬
[30] And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord: “If you give the Ammonites into my hands, [31] whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the Lord’s, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering.” [32] Then Jephthah went over to fight the Ammonites, and the Lord gave them into his hands. [33] He devastated twenty towns from Aroer to the vicinity of Minnith, as far as Abel Keramim. Thus Israel subdued Ammon. [34] When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of timbrels! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter. [35] When he saw her, he tore his clothes and cried, “Oh no, my daughter! You have brought me down and I am devastated. I have made a vow to the Lord that I cannot break.” [36] “My father,” she replied, “you have given your word to the Lord. Do to me just as you promised, now that the Lord has avenged you of your enemies, the Ammonites. [37] But grant me this one request,” she said. “Give me two months to roam the hills and weep with my friends, because I will never marry.” [38] “You may go,” he said. And he let her go for two months. She and her friends went into the hills and wept because she would never marry. [39] After the two months, she returned to her father, and he did to her as he had vowed. And she was a virgin. From this comes the Israelite tradition

In the story of Jephthah he sacrificed his only daughter to God as a result of the auth.

Ecclesiastes 5;4-6
‭‭
🥀[4] When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. [5] It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.
