Lonely and sick at heart, they remembered Christ’s words, “If they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in a dry?” [Luke 24:21; 23:31.]

They met together in the upper chamber, and closed and fastened the doors, knowing that the fate of their beloved Teacher might at any time be theirs. “And that was the preparation day, and the Sabbath drew on. The women also which came with him from Galilee followed after, and beheld the sepulcher, and how his body was laid. And they returned and prepared spices and ointment, and rested the Sabbath day, according to the commandment.” [Verses 54-56.]

“In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher. Worship isn’t just for the breakthrough. Some of the most powerful praise in Scripture came before the answer.
