OPEN HEAVEN
1. in order for us to unlock and maintains open heaven prayer is paramount. We must be given to a life of prayer if we are to operate in open heaven.
Hosea 10:12
Sow for yourselves according to righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God); reap according to mercy and loving-kindness. Break up your uncultivated ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, to inquire for and of Him, and to require His favor, till He comes and teaches you righteousness and rains His righteous gift of salvation upon you.
The amount of prayer that God is calling us unto is a higher one. Gone should be the days that we wake up and hastily make a prayer before God. As one wiseman said, " 7 days without prayers makes one weak"
We are called to a lifestyle of prayer. Jesus who is our role model spent ample time in prayer and no wonder He lived a powerful lifestyle.
Prayer should not be a burden to a christian but a lifestyle. Its time we arise in prayer if the prophetic theme of operating in open heaven has to take effect in our lives.

2. Sacrificial giving
II chro 1:1-12
There are many areas that God requires our dedication.
Sacrificial giving compels God to open the heavens on us. in the text above we learn that it's after Solomon offered an exponential sacrifice (a thousand bulls for burnt offering) that the heavens opened on him verse 7.
- when one makes a sacrificial offering to God, He does more than one expected or prayed for. verse 12 & Eph 3:20,
-Sacrificial giving touches the heart of God. David refused to give to the Lord a sacrifice that did not cost him n his sacrifice touched the heart of God. Those who offer sacrifice have their lives transformed. They never remain the same.
-Abraham was another one who gave an offering to God. when God demanded that he give Isaac his only son as a burnt offering,he did not retreat but took him to the ordained mountain. But as he stretched out his hand to slay Isaac, the angel of the Lord appeared to him and its then that God changed his life. The heavens were opened on him.
-Sacrifice entails one being dead. Here we turn away from ourselves and concentrate on the demands of God.
The power of sacrificial giving establishes a permanent blessing. Gen 22:16-18
Every genuine prayer is followed by sacrificial giving.
Our level of righteousness is determined by the level of sacrifices we make.
May we receive the grace to make sacrifice and may God honor the sacrifice that we make before Him in Jesus name.

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
(Ephesians 3:20 NKJV)

Exceedingly Abundantly
God wants to do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ever ask, think or imagine. In another place in Scripture, it says that no person has ever seen, heard or even imagined the wonderful things that God has in store for those who love the Lord. But notice that it's "according to the power working in us." God's power works in us by our faith, how we believe. Do you believe that God wants to work in your life exceedingly abundantly above all you could ask or think? Do you believe He wants to overwhelm you with His goodness and blessing?

The Bible says that if we have faith the size of a tiny mustard seed, we can move mountains. And no matter how much faith we have, faith can grow in us as we hear, study and receive the Word of God.

Today, make God's Word a priority. Believe that He will do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think. He is faithful to His Word, and He will be faithful to fulfill every promise He's made to you!

A man just elected to the British parliament took his family to London for a tour of the town. On entering Westminster Abbey his 8 yr old daughter seemed awestruck by the size n beauty of that magnificent structure. "And wt r u thinking abt my child?" She replies." Daddy i was just thinking abt how big u r in our house but here u r so small"
Pride can creep into our lives without our awareness. We must not think more highly of ourselves than we ought to.
Its easy to become proud when we stay in our own circles. But when we are thrust into large situations with increased demands, pressures and competations we come to realization that "big fish in small ponds" shrink quickly in large ocean.
One thing that stands out in the Word of God is that God despises the haughty look and a proud heart.Psa 101:5
If we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see ourselves as we really are, He will enable us control our pride.
I ONCE WAS FULL OF SELF AND PROUD,
JUST LIKE A PHARISEE,
UNTIL ONE DAY QUITE BY SUPRISE,
I CAUGHT A GLIMPSE OF ME.

WHAT MOVES YOU
The frigid waters around greenland contains countless icebergs.sometimes the smaller ices floes move in one direction while their counterparts in another.reason, surface winds druve the little ones, but deep ocean currents carry the huge masses.
When we face trials and tragedies, our lives are subject to two forces-surface winds and ocean currents. The wind represents everything changeable, unpredictable and destressing. But their is another force thats more powerful. It is the sure movement of God's wise and sovereign purpose, the deep flow of His unchanging love. The Psalmist Asaph tells it in Psa 73:17,Job 13:15 and paul in 2 cor 4:8
Although the surface winds of trials become severe,we need not be alarmed. If we trust in God the deep currents of His love and wisdom will carry us peacefully. baraka

Romans 10:17 AMP
(17) So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.

Activating Faith

Faith is one of the pillars of our Christian walk because without it you and I cannot please God. It is the foundation upon which our walk with the Lord is built on. Yesterday we talked about faith being a belief upon which our hope is built on but where does it come from?

Faith comes when we hear the word of God. Every time we hear the word of God, faith is activated in our lives but that’s just the beginning because we have the responsibility to do something because of what we have believed. What have you heard? What has God spoken to you?

I have seen people get disappointed because they tried to operate on someone else’s faith or they believed a word from a man and not from God.

Hebrews 11:8 Amplified Bible
(8) By faith Abraham, when he was called [by God], obeyed by going to a place which he was to receive as an inheritance; and he went, not knowing where he was going.

Abraham did not just wake up one day and decide to move, no, he heard something. God called him and gave him clear instructions and on hearing the word faith was activated in Abraham and he acted on it by obedience even though he had no idea where he was going.

Think about Noah, he did not just wake up one day and thought to himself that building an ark was a great idea. He heard from God and though what he heard sounded ridiculous at the time, though many ridiculed him and thought he was crazy, he obeyed and his household was saved from the flood.

Faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God! Do you have the capacity to hear from God? Does he speak when you read the bible or when you listen to preaching’s? Do you know when he speaks to you and gives you specific instructions?

When you can’t tell the voice of God, you will operate based on what someone else heard or what they tell you and you will end up disappointed. I have seen people give out all their money because someone told them to do so and they ended up disappointed because the story did not end like they had been told it would.

What have you heard from God? Has that word activated faith in your life? If it has, later on we look at what to do with that faith.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

What is Faith?

Faith is common term in the Christian walk; we hear it or say it every other day. I walk by faith, have faith, live by faith are just but a few common terms we use and hear every day but do we really understand what faith is?

Just because I believe something does it mean I am a man of faith? Because I have faith does it mean I do nothing but simply wait on God to move? Does faith only have to do with spiritual and mystical things or does it have a place in the natural?

“Now faith” tells me that faith is something that is active in the present, it’s not a thing of the past nor is it a thing we are looking forward to in the future. Faith is present, it is now! But what is it?

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, substance here talks of that thing on which another stands on, it is like a foundation on which another is built on thus faith is the foundation upon which our hope is built on.

Faith is the foundation upon which our relationship with God is built on no wonder we are told that without faith it is impossible to please God.

Though faith is now, hope talks of a future thus faith is that belief that we have about a coming future. Faith is also the evidence of things that are not seen. Evidence talks of proof, confirmation or conviction. Things that are not seen sounds like things that are not in the realm that I am presently in. Things of the past, things to come and things eternal.

Faith is a belief, a foundation on which our hope is built on. To serve God you have to believe that He is, He exists though no one have ever laid eyes on Him. It is that belief that the things God has spoken will in deed come to pass.

It is that belief that gives us the confidence that we have in Christ and our salvation. That confidence gives birth to trust to walk in the way that God directs us to walk in and to believe His word or that even the bible is His word.

To walk in that trust is faith in action; it is faith that is fully operational. So how do I get that faith, what is the process of having that substance and assurance? We will look at that later on

James 1:22-24

Obey God's message! Don't fool yourselves by just listening to it. If you hear the message and don't obey it, you are like people who stare at themselves in a mirror and forget what they look like as soon as they leave.

Hearing and Obeying

A church got a new young pastor from the city. On Sunday morning the church was full to capacity everybody eager to hear the young pastors sermon. The pastor preached an inspiring powerful message on loving one another and most of the congregation loved it. The general consensus was that he was a good preacher.

The next Sunday, the church was full to capacity everyone eager to hear what the pastor would preach on. To the amazement of the congregation, the pastor preached the same sermon he had preached the week before word for word.

On the third Sunday the same thing happened and the people were deeply concerned. One of the church deacons gathered up courage and asked the pastor the question that was on everybody’s lips.

“Why is it that you keep preaching the same message every Sunday? Don’t you have any other message you can preach?” he asked. The young pastor replied, “Why should I preach another message when we have not acted on the one that has been preached?”

Every Sunday our churches are full of people and the word is preached. In fact when I think about it, in this nation (Kenya) every other place you go to someone is always preaching (at least in the major towns and cities) Switch on the TV and all the local stations have some time every day that has been allocated to the gospel either through gospel music or preaching of some sort.

All in all, we hear the word daily but the question I would ask is this; Are our lives being changed or are we just hearers of the word?Have we become so familiar with the word but not allowing it to take root in our lives?

Every Sunday we are in church most of us with our note books but have you ever asked yourself what many people do with those notes? Do we refer to them? Do we go back to the word to counter check the scriptures the preacher made reference to?

We have become a people chasing after the next big revelation, the next big thing. I know people who attend every major conference, kesha, convention and other meetings but they seem never to grow. They still struggle with the same things, why? Because they are just hearers, they take notes; shout amen when the preacher preaches but it all ends there, no implementation, no obedience.

If your life is not changing yet you are exposed to the word every other day, it means you hear and don’t obey, you look at yourself in the mirror and as soon as you walk away you forget how you look like.

So, were you in church last Sunday?
What did the preacher preach about?
What have you done about what you heard?
Why would you expect God to give you a new word when you have totally ignore the last thing He said to you?

Ouch!!!! Its time to look for those note books and start doing something about what I have heard so far!

Philippians 2:8 (AMP)

After He was found in [terms of His] outward appearance as a man [for a divinely-appointed time], He humbled Himself [still further] by becoming obedient [to the Father] to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Obedience in the midst of pain.

How we admire the obedience a dog shows to its master! Archibald Rutledge wrote that one day he met a man whose dog had just been killed in a forest fire. Heartbroken, the man explained to Rutledge how it happened.

Because he worked out-of-doors, he often took his dog with him. That morning, he left the animal in a clearing and gave him a command to stay and watch his lunch bucket while he went into the forest. His faithful friend understood, for that's exactly what he did.

Then a fire started in the woods, and soon the blaze spread to the spot where the dog had been left. But he didn't move. He stayed right where he was, in perfect obedience to his master's word. With tearful eyes, the dog's owner said, "I always had to be careful what I told him to do, because I knew he would do it." Our Daily Bread.

One of the many misconceptions we have is that as long as we are born again and we are doing the will of God, then He will not allow us to go through pain and hardship. We equate pain and hardship as a sign that the Good Lord has rejected us or that we have done something that has not pleased Him but that is not necessarily the case.

Jesus is our perfect example. He was without sin and in the perfect will of God the father yet he went through so much pain which led to His death. He was obedient even unto death.

Because we are using Jesus as an example many may say that He had it easier because He is the son of God. Just like us, He had a choice to obey or not to obey. We see Him struggling in the garden just before he went to the cross.

Luke 22:42 (AMP) saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup [of divine wrath]from Me; yet not My will, but [always] Yours be done.”

If it were up to Him at that point, He would have chosen another way but God's way was for Jesus to go through the pain and eventually die so that you and i can be saved. Our faith has to be tested and that sometimes means that God will allow us to go through pain and suffering to test the quality of our faith just like Gold is purified through the fire.

1 Peter 4:12-14 (AMP) Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test you [that is, to test the quality of your faith], as though something strange or unusual were happening to you. But insofar as you are sharing Christ’s sufferings, keep on rejoicing, so that when His glory [filled with His radiance and splendor] is revealed, you may rejoice with great joy.

Have you been struggling to obey God's will in your life because it leads down the road of pain and hurt? One thing I know is this; it is not in vain to walk the road of obedience to God when it leads to pain because after the pain, the Lord will exalt you. Jesus was exalted because he obeyed even in the midst of pain. Joseph, job and many other servants of God who stayed obedient in the midst of pain and rejection were also exalted.

Romans 8:18 (AMP) For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us.

Stay faithful to His will even in the midst of pain anguish and rejection, He remains faithful!
