Siri Gurdwara Thika

Siri Gurdwara Thika Siri Gurdwara Thika was established in 1934 by Sub-Inspector Sardar Banta Singh. Siri Gurdwara Thika underwent a major renovation in 1989.

The Sikh community in Thika formed a committee in 1930 to establish a Gurdwara Sahib in Thika town. The purpose of the Gurdwara was to be a place where the community can come to learn spiritual wisdom, practice religious ceremonies and learn more about the principles of Sikhism such as ethics, customs, traditions, language and scripts. The foundation of the Gurdwara was laid on 10th February 1935

by the elected committee Chairman, Sub-Inspector Banta Singh. in 2016, the first phase of another major renovation commenced.

Waheguru ka khalsa, Waheguru g ki fateh 🙏

On 1st August, Siri Gurdwara Sahib Thika, in partnership with other organisations, is organising a Medical Camp for approximately 2,500 widowed ladies.
As part of this initiative, we will also be distributing maize flour and chapati flour to all the beneficiaries.
If you would like to support this noble cause, we kindly request you to donate packets of maize flour or chapati flour in 1kg packaging as this packaging is preferred for easy and fair distribution.
Please drop your donations at Siri Gurdwara Sahib Thika before Thursday.
Your generosity can make a real difference in the lives of these ladies. Thank you for your kind support and seva.🙏

"Honouring Our Past • Preserving Our Heritage • Inspiring Future Generations"

Siri Gurdwara Sahib Thika has served the Sikh community for many decades and stands as a symbol of faith, seva, unity, and history.

The Gurdwara Committee has begun an initiative to document and preserve the rich history of Siri Gurdwara Sahib Thika. We humbly request the Sangat to support this important project.
We are looking for:
• Historical photographs of the Gurdwara, Sangat, and special events
• Old videos and audio recordings
• Newspaper articles, invitations, letters, certificates, or documents
Stories, memories, and personal experiences
• Historical artefacts or any items connected to the Gurdwara
• Any other information that reflects the history and growth of Siri Gurdwara Sahib Thika.

If you have any photographs, documents, or historical materials, we would be grateful if you could share them with us.

Together, we can preserve our history, celebrate the contributions of our elders, and create a lasting archive for future generations.

We sincerely request every member of the Sangat to contribute and help preserve the history of Siri Gurdwara Sahib Thika.🙏

The ladies of Siri Gurdwara Sahib, Thika, attended the three-day National Sikh Women Conference in Nairobi, organized by the Sikh Women Empowerment Committee of the Sikh Council of Kenya under the supervision of Mrs. Rattan Kaur Channa.

The conference was highly informative and inspiring, providing valuable knowledge, meaningful discussions, and an opportunity for Sikh women from across the country to connect, learn, and empower one another. The participants from Siri Gurdwara Sahib, Thika, greatly appreciated the organizers for hosting such a successful and enriching event.

🌹 On the Sacred Occasion of the Shaheedi Gurpurab of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji 🌹

The ladies of Siri Gurdwara Sahib Thika visited Nursery Hindi Mahila Mandal School, Thika, and carried out a seva by donating stationery hampers, milk, and sweets to nearly 150 students and staff members.

This humble initiative was undertaken in the spirit of seva, compassion, and sharing, inspired by the teachings of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji.

We sincerely thank all the donors and sevadars whose generous support made this noble cause possible.
