DEVOTION FOR THE DAY
BE JOYFUL, PRAYERFUL AND THANKFUL
PSALM 4:7/ 1 THESSALONIANS 5:16
Joy: comes from knowing and trusting God, it’s
lasting, defeats discouragement.
Happiness: Comes as a result of pleasant
circumstances, it’s unpredictable and temporary/.
Our joy, prayers and thankful should not fluctuate
with our circumstances or feelings, true joy
transcends the rolling waves of circumstance. Joy
comes from a consistent relationship with Jesus
Christ. When our lives are intertwined with his,
he will help us walk through adversity without
sinking and manage prosperity without moving
into the deceptive highs. The joy of living with
Jesus daily will keep us level headed, no matter
how high or low our circumstances are
Obeying these three commands: Being joyful,
praying and being thankful often goes against our
natural inclinations. But when we make a
conscious decision to do what God says, we will
begin to see people in a new perspective. When
we do God’s will find it easier to be joyful and
thankful.
TRUTHS TO REMEMBER.
May we enjoy the joy of God’s forgiveness! Do not
live in condemnation when God has forgiven you.

We should give thanks always for all things to God
EPHESIANS 5:20
Do not be anxious for nothing, but in everything
by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God;
PHILIPPIANS 4:6
