Nehemiah - Secret of Building the Kingdom.

Let’s Nehemiah 1-6:

*1. THE SECRET: PRAYER & BURDEN* `Nehemiah 1:4-11`
Before Nehemiah built anything with his hands, he built with his knees.
- *Secret #1*: He had a burden. When he heard Jerusalem's walls were broken, his heart broke.
- *Secret #2*: He prayed, fasted, and repented. Kingdom building starts in the secret place.
> _You cannot build what you have not first cried for._

*2. THE SECRET: CLEAR VISION FROM GOD* `Nehemiah 2:17-18`
Nehemiah didn’t just say "let’s fix things." He said: _"Let us arise and build"_
- *Secret #3*: He cast vision. He showed the people the ruins AND God’s promise: _"The God of heaven will give us success"_ `Nehemiah 2:20`
- Kingdom building needs direction. God gives the blueprint.

*3. THE SECRET: OVERCOMING OPPOSITION* `Nehemiah 4:1-9, 6:1-9`
Sanballat and Tobiah mocked, threatened, and tried to distract him.
- *Secret #4*: "We prayed to our God and posted a guard" `Nehemiah 4:9`. Prayer + Work.
- *Secret #5*: He refused distraction. _"I am doing a great work and I cannot come down"_ `Nehemiah 6:3`
> _Every Kingdom builder faces resistance. The secret is focus._

*4. THE SECRET: EVERYONE HAS A PART* `Nehemiah 3`
Chapter 3 lists names. Priests, goldsmiths, perfumers, women, rulers - all built next to each other.
- *Secret #6*: Unity and ownership. Next to him the men of... "repaired".
- Kingdom building is not a one-man show. The wall was built in sections.
> _Your gift is needed in the wall God is building._

*5. THE SECRET: REBUILDING WHAT WAS BROKEN*
The walls = Protection. The gates = Authority. The people = Identity.
- *Secret #7*: Nehemiah rebuilt 3 things:
1. *The Wall* - Security and separation for God’s people
2. *The Worship* - Ezra reading the Word `Nehemiah 8`
3. *The Covenant* - People committed to God `Nehemiah 10`
> _God is not just building buildings. He’s building people, families, and holiness._

*APPLICATION FOR US TODAY AT UPPER-ROOM GRACE FELLOWSHIP*
1. *Arise*: Stop complaining about what’s broken. Start building.
2. *Pray first*: Like Nehemiah, let’s seek God for Thika, our families, our church.
3. *Work together*: Every servant has a section of the wall.
4. *Refuse distractions*: The enemy will call you to "come down". Stay on the wall.
5. *Trust God for success*: `Nehemiah 2:20` - It’s God who gives success.

*Main Point*:
The secret of building the Kingdom is not money, not numbers, not strategy.
*It’s God + Burden + Prayer + Unity + Obedience.*

"THE GREATEST SERVANTS ARE THE ONES WHO SERVE IN HUMILITY."

In the Kingdom of God, greatness is never measured by the microphone you hold, the title before your name, or the applause of people. It is measured by your willingness to serve even when no one notices.

The servant who faithfully sweeps the church floor, cleans the comfort room, arranges the chairs, and serves with a joyful heart is just as valuable before God as the one standing behind the pulpit. Heaven celebrates faithfulness more than fame.

A broom in the hands of a servant is not a sign of low status—it is a symbol of humility. God anoints those who are willing to kneel before He allows them to stand before people. Before He entrusts someone with a platform, He first tests their heart in private service.

Never think that your service is too small. Every unseen sacrifice, every drop of sweat, every act of obedience, and every task done with love is remembered by God. While people may overlook your labor, Heaven records every faithful moment.
