[1] When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.

๐™„๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ค

- Pentecost didn't happen accidentally it was as a result of people who had learnt the discipline of Waiting and the power of unity.
- Before the wind blew, before the fire fell, before the speaking of tongues there was a posture that facilitated that.
- They were all together in one place.

- They didn't scatter after the ascension of Jesus Christ, they obeyed His instructions to wait.
- Waiting is not a weakness it is obedience in motion

- The disciples waited not knowing the exact time that they were to wait, but what they knew was Jesus had told them to wait .
- In a world that values speed God often works through stillness
- The disciples understood the promise of the Holy Spirit could not be manufactured it had to be received
- Sometimes the delay in waiting is not denial it is preparation
- When we wait on God we position ourselves for divine visitation
โ€ญIsaiah 40:31 NIVโ€ฌ
[31] but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

- They were all together....

- This wasn't just physical proximity,it was spiritual unity.
- There were no divisions, no competition, no personal agenda.
- They had one heart, one expectation and one focus.
- Unity creates an atmosphere where God moves freely and division Greaves the Holy Spirit but harmony invites His presence.

- What we may not receive individually we receive corporately
- There is power when believers gather together in one accord.
- โ€ญPsalms 133:1 NIVโ€ฌ

- They chose the right place;the upper room, a place of prayer, a place of expectation and a lace of separation.
- God fills those who positioned themselves in the right place.
- The environment matters, the posture matters.
- Your spiritual environment can determine your spiritual experience.
- Stay where God has placed you...remain in prayer, remain in fellowship and God will minister to you.

Waiting+unity+right positioning= divine Infilling
If we desire Pentecost infilling today we must:
- Learn to wait on God
- Learn to walk in unity
- position ourselves in prayer and expectation

The same spirit that filled the upper room is available for us today.
- Are you waiting on God or rushing ahead?
- Are you united with others or are you isolated?
- Are you positioned for an encounter or are you distracted?

Make a decision today ,stay ,wait, unite.
Position yourself and the Holy Spirit will fill you.

Acts 2:1-17 (MSG):
1. When the Feast of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
2. Without warning there was a sound like a strong wind, gale forceโ€”no one could tell where it came from. It filled the whole building.
3. Then, like a wildfire, the Holy Spirit spread through their ranks,
4. and they started speaking in a number of different languages as the Spirit prompted them.
5. There were many Jews staying in Jerusalem just then, devout pilgrims from all over the world.
6. When they heard the sound, they came on the run. Then when they heard, one after another, their own mother tongues being spoken, they were thunderstruck.
7. They couldn't for the life of them figure out what was going on, and kept saying, "Aren't these all Galileans?
8. How come we're hearing them talk in our various mother tongues?
9. Parthians, Medes, and Elamites;
Visitors from Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia,
Pontus and Asia,
10. Phrygia and Pamphylia,
Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene;
Immigrants from Rome,
11. both Jews and proselytes;
Even Cretans and Arabs!
"They're speaking our languages, describing God's mighty works!"
12. Their heads were spinning; they couldn't make head or tail of any of it. They talked back and forth, confused: "What's going on here?"
13. Others joked, "They're drunk on cheap wine."
14. That's when Peter stood up and, backed by the other eleven, spoke out with bold urgency: "Fellow Jews, all of you who are visiting Jerusalem, listen carefully and get this story straight.
15. These people aren't drunk as some of you suspect. They haven't had time to get drunkโ€”it's only nine o'clock in the morning.
16. This is what the prophet Joel announced would happen:
17. "In the Last Days," God says,
"I will pour out my Spirit
on every kind of people:
Your sons will prophesy,
also your daughters;
Your young men will see visions,
your old men dream dreams.

- You will never compromise the truth
- You will pray for boldness to go through challenges not to escape the challenges
Acts 6; 7:5(The story of Stephen) however while was being stoned to death his face shone like an angel....by the power of the Holy Spirit,he prayed to the persecutors

Acts 6:5
[5]And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

- You will be able to love them who persecutes us

Stephen prayed for the persecutors anyway

- You get a new urgency to serve

- The disciples saw the coming of Jesus coming near and so they remembered what Acts 1:11

Acts 1:11
[11]Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
- A new sense of revival is seen in the disciples

- You will be able to accept Holy Spirit conviction

[1]On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place.
[2]Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.
[3]Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.
[4]And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
[5]At that time there were devout Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem.
[6]When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers.
[7]They were completely amazed. โ€œHow can this be?โ€ they exclaimed. โ€œThese people are all from Galilee,
[8]and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages!
[9]Here we areโ€”Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, the province of Asia,
[10]Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the areas of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome
[11](both Jews and converts to Judaism), Cretans, and Arabs. And we all hear these people speaking in our own languages about the wonderful things God has done!โ€
[12]They stood there amazed and perplexed. โ€œWhat can this mean?โ€ they asked each other.
[13]But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, โ€œTheyโ€™re just drunk, thatโ€™s all!โ€
[14]Then Peter stepped forward with the eleven other apostles and shouted to the crowd, โ€œListen carefully, all of you, fellow Jews and residents of Jerusalem! Make no mistake about this.
[15]These people are not drunk, as some of you are assuming. Nine oโ€™clock in the morning is much too early for that.
[16]No, what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel:
[17]โ€˜In the last days,โ€™ God says,
โ€˜I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your young men will see visions,
and your old men will dream dreams.

- Once the Holy Spirit comes upon you there must be a paradigm shift
- Among disciples, most of them were not good before but the coming of the Holy Spirit upon then there was a difference

- John and James were called sons of thunder
- Nathaniel was a man of doubt
- Mathew was a tax collector but
- Thomas too was so doubtful
- Mathias was unknown and even chosen in silence

- Before the Holy Spirit, the disciples were fearful, but after the coming of the Holy they became bold

- The same transformation is still available today
- The Holy Spirit is instant , immediately after confession the Holy Spirit comes and sanctification becomes progressively
- In Acts chapter 4,the disciples begin witnessing about Jesus..after they had received the Holy Spirit

- Marks of the Early church after they received the power of the Holy Spirit

- They loved one another
- They shared what they had with them who didn't have
- They minimize the differences
- They didn't gossip,critized

[18]In those days I will pour out my Spirit
even on my servantsโ€”men and women alikeโ€”
and they will prophesy.
[19]And I will cause wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth belowโ€”
blood and fire and clouds of smoke.
[20]The sun will become dark,
and the moon will turn blood red
before that great and glorious day of the lord arrives.
[21]But everyone who calls on the name of the lord
will be saved.

On the day of Pentecost.. Three miracles happen

- Different languages yet could be understood
- Lame begger being healed
- John and Peter arrested then released unconditionally

These are the effects of the Holy Spirit on believers lifes at that time
