Colossians 1:9-14
[9]So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.
[10]Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.
[11]We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy,
[12]always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.
[13]For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,
[14]who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.

Intro.

What is prayer?
- Fellowshiping with God,
- Talking to God,
- Asking him to do what he can only do
- Aligning ourselves with the purpose of God.

- We pray because it hounors God
- It shows we are dependant on Him.
- people who pray are healthier than those who don't pray.
Proverbs 3:5-8
[5]Trust in the lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
[6]Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
[7]Donโ€™t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the lord and turn away from evil.
[8]Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones.

Acts of the Apostles 16:25-31
[25]Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.
[26]Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!
[27]The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself.
[28]But Paul shouted to him, โ€œStop! Donโ€™t kill yourself! We are all here!โ€
[29]The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.
[30]Then he brought them out and asked, โ€œSirs, what must I do to be saved?โ€
[31]They replied, โ€œBelieve in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.โ€

1 Samuel 7:1-17
[1]So the men of Kiriath-jearim came to get the Ark of the lord. They took it to the hillside home of Abinadab and ordained Eleazar, his son, to be in charge of it.
[2]The Ark remained in Kiriath-jearim for a long timeโ€”twenty years in all. During that time all Israel mourned because it seemed the lord had abandoned them.
[3]Then Samuel said to all the people of Israel, โ€œIf you want to return to the lord with all your hearts, get rid of your foreign gods and your images of Ashtoreth. Turn your hearts to the lord and obey him alone; then he will rescue you from the Philistines.โ€
[4]So the Israelites got rid of their images of Baal and Ashtoreth and worshiped only the lord.
[5]Then Samuel told them, โ€œGather all of Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the lord for you.โ€
[6]So they gathered at Mizpah and, in a great ceremony, drew water from a well and poured it out before the lord. They also went without food all day and confessed that they had sinned against the lord. (It was at Mizpah that Samuel became Israelโ€™s judge.)
[7]When the Philistine rulers heard that Israel had gathered at Mizpah, they mobilized their army and advanced. The Israelites were badly frightened when they learned that the Philistines were approaching.
[8]โ€œDonโ€™t stop pleading with the lord our God to save us from the Philistines!โ€ they begged Samuel.
[9]So Samuel took a young lamb and offered it to the lord as a whole burnt offering. He pleaded with the lord to help Israel, and the lord answered him.
[10]Just as Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines arrived to attack Israel. But the lord spoke with a mighty voice of thunder from heaven that day, and the Philistines were thrown into such confusion that the Israelites defeated them.
[11]The men of Israel chased them from Mizpah to a place below Beth-car, slaughtering them all along the way.
[12]Samuel then took a large stone and placed it between the towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah. He named it Ebenezer (which means โ€œthe stone of helpโ€), for he said, โ€œUp to this point the lord has helped us!โ€
[13]So the Philistines were subdued and didnโ€™t invade Israel again for some time. And throughout Samuelโ€™s lifetime, the lordโ€™s powerful hand was raised against the Philistines.
[14]The Israelite villages near Ekron and Gath that the Philistines had captured were restored to Israel, along with the rest of the territory that the Philistines had taken. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites in those days.
[15]Samuel continued as Israelโ€™s judge for the rest of his life.
[16]Each year he traveled around, setting up his court first at Bethel, then at Gilgal, and then at Mizpah. He judged the people of Israel at each of these places.
[17]Then he would return to his home at Ramah, and he would hear cases there, too. And Samuel built an altar to the lord at Ramah.

๐™„๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™ค.
- When Israel returned back to God there was great revival in the nation and God delivered them from their enrmies
- When we return to God, He answers our prayers
- But before then we must surrender to Him and turn back to Him
- This was so significant because Israel had rebeled against God and God had used the weaked Philistines to teach them a hard lesson.
- The ark of covenant had been captured and taken away from them. ( God had left them)
- God ark was brought back and Israelites started prospering again.
- God is asking us to turn to Him and and He bring back what was stolen by the enemy.
- God will always charge us based on the amount of exposure to his word.
- God wanted to restore isreal but they were to deal away with their idol Worship.
- Our God is always arms open ready to receive us but we must deal with the sins in our lives.

- Israel had to turn to God sincerely
- God hates insincerity
- You can't be at devils camp and expect God to attend to your needs.
- Return to the Lord is all about listening to that fist call.
- God promises restoration upon our return

Job 22:23

so clean up your life.

When we return to Him he will listen to us because he is compassionate and his love abound.

When Philistines heard Israelites have cathered they attacked but God fought for Israel
Because isralites had turned back to God

When we turn back to him he will fight our battles
For our strength is from him

Psalms 5:5-7
[5]Therefore, the proud may not stand in your presence,
for you hate all who do evil.
[6]You will destroy those who tell lies.
The lord detests murderers and deceivers.
[7]Because of your unfailing love, I can enter your house;

Deuteronomy 23:14
[14]The camp must be holy, for the lord your God moves around in your camp to protect you and to defeat your enemies. He must not see any shameful thing among you, or he will turn away from you.

But the question is are you ready to return to him?

Exodus 3:1-7, 10-14
[1]One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God.
[2]There the angel of the lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didnโ€™t burn up.
[3]โ€œThis is amazing,โ€ Moses said to himself. โ€œWhy isnโ€™t that bush burning up? I must go see it.โ€

[5]โ€œDo not come any closer,โ€ the lord warned. โ€œTake off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground.
[6]I am the God of your fatherโ€”the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.โ€ When Moses heard this, he covered his face because he was afraid to look at God.
[7]Then the lord told him, โ€œI have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering.

[10]Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.โ€
[11]But Moses protested to God, โ€œWho am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?โ€
[12]God answered, โ€œI will be with you. And this is your sign that I am the one who has sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God at this very mountain.โ€
[13]But Moses protested, โ€œIf I go to the people of Israel and tell them, โ€˜The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,โ€™ they will ask me, โ€˜What is his name?โ€™ Then what should I tell them?โ€

[4]When the lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, โ€œMoses! Moses!โ€โ€œHere I am!โ€ Moses replied.

[14]God replied to Moses, โ€œi am who i am. Say this to the people of Israel: i am has sent me to you.โ€

In humanly view this was genuine because Moses came from a nation of slaves
