WHO DO YOU WALK WITH? (Part 9)

Psalms 119:62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You, Because of Your righteous judgments.
63 I am a companion of all who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts.
64 The earth, O LORD, is full of Your mercy; Teach me Your statutes.

Beloved, welcome to a new month, an opportunity to love the Lord. It is also mid-year. What a faithful God we serve, to have another wonderful season? Praise the Lord.

We continue to ask ourselves, ‘who do you walk with?’ He who walks with the wise will be wise, but he who keeps company with fools will be destroyed. The company you keep shapes your life and eventually destiny.

Hear the Psalmist; “I am a companion of all who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts.”

Look at the company here – those who fear the Lord and keep His precepts or word. Jesus gives us a great reason why we should keep company with the righteous saying;

"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." (Matt. 18:19, 20

When two of us agree on a matter and pray over it, Jesus promised an answer from the Father. Again, where two or three gather together in His name, He will be right there in their midst. Who assemblies with those who hate the Lord? Is it not evil spirits who works as counterfeit of the work of God?

Beloved, do you love those who love the Lord? Do you delight in the company “of all who fear Him, And of those who keep His precepts?”

We learn from Jesus; For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying: "I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You." (Heb. 2:11, 12)

May you be found in the company and assembly of the Lord.

PRAYER: And again: "I will put My trust in Him." And again: "Here am I and the children whom God has given Me." (Heb. 2:13) Lord, I delight in Your company!

WHO DO YOU WALK WITH? (Part 7)

Acts 11:21 And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
22 Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch.
23 When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.

There was a move of God in Antioch, and the news of the great work that God was doing came to Jerusalem. The church in Jerusalem sent Barnabas (whose name means son of encouragement) to go and witness what was happening.

Barnabas arrived Antioch and saw the grace of God among the saints there. There was a great move of God. He “encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.”

Look at the character of Barnabas; “For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.” (Vs. 24)

Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. (Vs. 25, 26)

Here is the message – when Barnabas saw the great things that were happening in Antioch, he went sought Paul and brought him there. This man knew the potential in Paul and how a great blessing he would be in Antioch.

The duo – Barnabas and Paul made great impact in Antioch. It is here that the Spirit commissioned them into apostolic ministry – “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." (Acts 13:2)

Beloved, do you have company that can draw you to where action is? Do you have people who can help you be positioned where you would thrive best? Do you also seek to do that for others?

Two are better than one. But these two must be rightly positioned. May you find your divinely-aligned company for advancement!

PRAYER: So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. (Acts 13:4) Lord, commission my company!
