Parish Minister, Rev. Josephine W.Mutuota reading New Year Message....
We give God the glory for the love upon us. We are gathered as a Parish this day,to mark the first Sunday of the year 2018 with thanksgiving and praises in our hearts.
The journey may not have been easy to and for us in 2017,but we thank God for his grace this far.
The year 2018 is full of package given to each one of us by our loving God,therefore,let purpose to please him in all our endeavors.
As PCEA Ruiru East Family,the Lord is calling upon us to increase our influence as the salt of the earth and the light of the world,
The bible reminds us that we are the Salt of the earth and it is eminent to review some of the characteristics of Salt that we ought to emulate
* Salt is distinctive & this cannot be substituted.
* Salt gives flavour
* Salt preserves
Light also has several characteristics and just to mention but few;
*Light is reflected: Not called to shine our won light but called to reflects His.
* Light refracts : Called to shine in all spheres of life to impact the world for the glory of God.
*Light is scattered or diffused : Scattered or diffused through the atmosphere to serve all creation... Mathew 28;19-20.
*Light cannot be extinguished : Dealing with the source...All darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.
*Light is visible* :Can not be hidden,should be visible and not hidden in every facet of life.
*Light gives direction: This demands that we walk in the right path for other to follow us in the right direction.
As the salt of the earth and light of the world,we are to influence and impact the world, knowing that Jesus did not tell his disciples that will "BE",but He told them "YOU ARE" the salt of the earth and the light of the world.....
Theme 2018: "You are the Salt of the earth and the Light of the world"
God bless you and a blessed year 2018.
