One of the most important qualities of a good Christian is the ability to pray fervently and frequently. It is a stumbling block used by a Christian to accomplish things, to change circumstances and, most important, to live a victorious daily life. Through prayer, the Christian communicates with God, devotes himself or herself to the Almighty and assigns to Him duties to provide, to protect, to grow spiritually and so on.

Naturally, Satan knows the value and power of prayer. He is also aware of the threats against his kingdom. For that reason, he did everything he could to prevent Christians from praying effectively and diligently. Being cunning, he uses many subtle means to attract Christians to prayer. In this writing, we will be examining 5 ways in which Satan cleverly hinders Christians from praying.

Unnecessary Distractions

If you suddenly find yourself interrupting whenever you intend to pray, be assured that the devil is at work. This is especially true when you intend to pray at home or in your office at work. For example, your attention span may suddenly change to your wish wardrobe. There is something that will definitely make you feel that you can come first in your life instead of kneeling and praying.


Reminding How Low Your Prayer Life Is

Another subtle method Satan uses to keep Christians away from prayer is to remind them of the shortcomings in their prayer lives. Feelings of guilt well up in their minds as they realize that they have never prayed enough in the past as against God' s command to " pray incessantly" . Overwhelmed by this case, the zeal for prayer diminishes while other things carry the burden of mind at the time they are expected to pray. As this happens over and over again, the living prayer ended with the Christian being exposed.
