They would rather be comfortable that you stayed at the same level with them or even less.
Never mind or take it personally.

Those who criticize you forget this one thing, that promotion does not come from east or west, but from the Lord.
Psalm 75:6-7

There are some, no matter what you do, it won't make them happy.

The issue is not you, it's about them, their internal and personal issues they have to deal with.

Pray for them.
Don't be angry with them. Remember, you can't be angry with someone you pray for everyday.
