*The passion week*

*Jesus cleanses the temple Luke 19: 45-48.*
_“When Jesus entered the temple courts, He began to drive out those who were selling. “It is written,” He said to them, “‘My house will be a house of prayer’; but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”_
_Every day He was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him. Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words”._

The Temple is said to be the center of Jewish life. It was a place of history, religion, and hope. Jesus went in the Temple on Palm Sunday and looked around. (Mark 11:11). According to Luke 19:45-48, on Monday, Jesus went back to the Temple and cleansed it by driving out those who bought and sold in it. Jesus said to them, “It is written, My house is a house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.” (Luke 19:46).

The Temple had become a place of profit instead of a place of prayer. People had replaced worship with business and had changed the purpose of the temple.

Yohana 10:37-38
[37]Kama sizitendi kazi za Baba yangu, msiniamini;

[38]lakini nikizitenda, ijapokuwa hamniamini mimi, ziaminini zile kazi; mpate kujua na kufahamu ya kuwa Baba yu ndani yangu, nami ni ndani ya Baba.

Ni kazi za Baba sio maneno au hadithi bali kazi... kuna wakati kwenye maisha kujieleza sana hakuta badilisha namna ya watu kukuamini. Watu huamini kazi zaidi kuliko maelezo. Visingizio havileti heshima wala kubadili namna watu wanavyokuona ila kazi.

Kamwe usikubali kuonewa huruma kwenye maisha, ruhusu watu wakupime na kukuheshimu kwa kazi zako. Ishara ya uwepo wa Baba ndani yako hauonekani kwa maelezo bali kazi. Mungu ndani yetu hutambulika kwa kazi zake anazozitanda kwenye mambo yetu ya kila siku. Ruhusu nguvu ya Mungu ihusike kwenye kazi zako, biashara zako, masomo yako, utendaji wako ofisini, watu wajue wewe unakitu cha ziada, sio kwa kuongea sana bali kwa kazi. Kazi zako ziongee zaidi kuhusu Mungu ndani yako kuliko maneno yako.

[18]Bwana ataniokoa na kila neno baya, na kunihifadhi hata nifike ufalme wake wa mbinguni. Utukufu una Yeye milele na milele. Amina.

Hii ndiyo inaweza kuwa Summary ya yote yaliyoko moyoni mwangu juu ya yaliyopita na juu yayale yajayo, God has been so merciful for His servant. Nami nitasema kwa hakika mimi ndio yule ambaye Bwana ananisaidia.

*The great commission fulfilled in Excellence*

*The promise in the commission.*
Jesus assured his disciples that He would be with them as they engaged in their mission, even “until the end of the age.” Before His ascension, Jesus informed the disciples that even when His physical presence had departed, He would send His Spirit to comfort, teach and strengthen them. And the Spirit continues to empower and reassure those who engage in this mission in our day. Any attempt to fulfill the Great Commission without the power of God’s Spirit is more about an individual’s pride and self-glorification than the glory of God to all nations. Working out the Great Commission is about walking boldly in the Spirit, carrying the message of the gospel to the whole world, and making disciples as Jesus modeled.

At its core, Christianity is not assent or affirmation of a doctrinal formula. Rather, the Christian faith is rooted and grounded in a relational commitment to learn and follow the way of Jesus. For sure, we Christians believe in grace, forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ. But we also believe that the *Jesus way of life is the best, most effective, most fulfilling way to live.*

The Message Bible puts it this way: _“Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age”._

Today, together, let us individually and collectively say yes to God’s promise. Together, we will be His witnesses to the ends of the earth.

NB: Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.
