PRESERVING THE OIL AS A MINISTER

To preserve, there are three thoughts that are captured in the idea of preservation:

1. To preserve means to maintain something in its original state. When we say you are preserving something, it means that you are about maintaining that thing to ensure that the original state is not compromised.

2. To preserve gives the idea of stopping from corruption or decomposition. When we say something is preserved, it means that you are stopping it from corruption or decomposition. We preserve food by using salt, refrigerator, all because we want to stop it from corruption and decomposition.

3. To preserve is to keep alive and to make something last. God wants our fruit to abide.

Let's define preservation now;
Preservation is defined as being kept from the reach of danger, harm, tragedy, and loses. We live in a very disturbing and very turbulent times. This is no news to anyone who has been alive for at least one year. It takes that short a time to know, to see and to appreciate the evil that is in our world. Church Gist. The Bible did not leave us in the dark as to the fact that even though God's intention for the earth to be an expression of His love, because of the presence of an adversity and an agenda that is anti-God, anti-Christ and anti-believers, the world has today from a spiritual standpoint becomes a place of evil, doom and the saints in light need to receive superior spiritual orientation to know how to live in this kind of world.

1 John 5:19, John 10:10
There is something about Satan, whatever you see him doing in your life, it is not the last thing he intends to do. Satan has the determination of a bulldog. If you see him touching your finances, do not make a mistake that it will end in only your finances. That is only the starting point. That is why you do not wait for him to advance before you crush his head with the Word of God. There are many people who allowed the attacks of darkness to stand until it gains ground, then we begin to come up with a fire brigade spiritual approach.

1 Peter 5:8
Apostle Peter gives us in a very graphic representation, the ministry of Satan. That means, you will never truly see him sit down doing nothing. He said be sober, be vigilant. Be vigilant requires that you are discerning, you are alive in the spirit. Satan is not your friend, neighbor or one who just doesn't like you so well. Church Gist. He calls him your adversary. Your adversary means one who is determined to bring you down. Satan has a determination that has never changed and will never change towards you. There is no manifestation of love in satan.

The reality in world today calls for this level of spiritual understanding to know how to preserve ourselves. I've shared with you here about people who go to bed and they have dreams. I don't know how many of these sets of people I've prayed for in my lifetime. Where someone will inject them with a syringe (HIV) in the dream, they will wake up, feeling a slight pain and just sweep it under the carpet, only to find out a few months later that they have physical HIV, not spiritual HIV. I know someone who was slapped in the realm of the spirit in the dream and he woke up with the mark. I know a gentleman who I once prayed for, he was deaf on one side of the ear and he was not born that way. What happened? He heard like someone was calling him and he answered and that was it. Paul said, there is as it were many voices and he said, no of them without significance.
- You are in for an experience this night in the name of Jesus!

I was told one time that someone was driving on high speed in the night and he had his light on fully and the next thing, it was like darkness just came upon him, he did not see where he was going and the last thing he heard was a head-on collision with a tree. He survived even though he had serious injuries and he told me, "I am not a bad driver. I tried turning my steering, it did not turn." You think that is lack of professionalism? A man who has been driving for 10-15 years. The whole world lies in wickedness. What of someone who is the only child of a woman and he is done from school, graduated with a first class. Church Gist. In his way to go back home, a bike man just comes out from nowhere and crushes him and he dies. I once heard a man of God, I was listening to his teachings and he was teaching particularly about this scripture of those appointed unto death and he said how that someone was going to rush to fly into another nation and then he missed his flight and he heard that the plane crashed and he was saying: "Thank God. I was preserved." He took train and then the train crashed again. You see how that is? - Appointed unto death.

Not to scare you but respectfully speaking, how about doctors that make mistakes and administer a treatment to someone that should not be? It was when the person is almost dying that they now discover mistakes and by that time, the damage control could not be done again. We live in a wicked world. You don't have to hurt anyone, you don't have to look for anyone's trouble. There is a vendetta that predict your existence. You are in the middle of an ancient story. We live in a world where if you are not taught and mentored and you do not sustain high level of spiritual intelligent, you will find yourself speaking things like; "Who did I offend?" That is not the condition for attack. The moment you are born, you are qualified to receive an attack from Satan. He believes that everybody who comes to the earth is a threat.

Brothers and sisters, we must understand the Kingdom keys allocated for our preservation if we must survive this world. There are people who have had the opportunity to eat certain things and after that, they found out that there were poisoned, some died and some are still living. The way the world was 30 years ago, 20 years ago, even ten years ago is not the way the world is today. Until the Church comes to that state where prophecy becomes experience, we must have knowledge of this truth to be able to stand and to last. Church Gist. Many young people now, the moment they become successful, they become afraid because it looks like there are some spirits that only wait for people to be successful in families to kill them. Once you are not successful, you can remain alive provided you are suffering. But let God lifts you to any position that is notable, then you'll start seeing strange and wicked and devilish activities.

There are territories where people don't live long. The oldest person there can be fifty years or fifty-five because there are spirits that destroy people. The moment you are celebrating your 50th birthday, those altars are activated and you find healthy people who have no track record of sicknesses, mysteriously fall sick until they are destroyed. It's almost a risk to be successful in our world today. Your fear is not to maintain the success. Your fear is to remain alive. There are people today who don't travel to the village, no matter what happens. I'm saying this so that when I show you the keys and as this oil comes upon you, you will know what to pray and know what to reject from your destiny.

I came from a region, ministerially speaking where I studied the history of ministries in that region and it is almost as though ministries do not survive up till three to five years of relevance. They're people like that. Businesses or ministries don't survive after 3,4,5 years. Something must happen and bring the ministry down. So you see a lot of people whose yesterdays were better than tomorrow. Preservation, being kept from the reach of danger, harm, tragedy and loses.

*WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SOMEONE TO BE A CHAPLAIN ?*

I researched that, there are three key verses in the New Testament which qualifies Chaplaincy:
i. *1 Timothy 3:1-7*: Qualifications for *Overseers*
ii. *Titus 1:5-9*: Qualities for *Elders/Overseers*
iii. *2 Timothy 2:24-26*: Qualifications for *God's Servant: Gentle, Patient, Servant Heart, Loving, Forebearing, etc.*

Now, apart from Pastoral Qualities or Requirements or Qualifications to be a Pastor, they are also, common qualifications or requirements to be a Chaplain. My explanation may differ from many schools but, this my discoveries as practice on my Chaplaincy Calling of Jesus Christ:
1. *The Call*: It is a divine calling that must be recognized in a person's life just as in the fivefold ministry gifts or offices according to Ephesians 4:7,11,12-16. After all, majority of us, Pastors today, first answered the call to be a Pastor before linking it up with a clearer vision to be a Chaplain.
2. *Christian Faith*: You must have strong and active commitment, belief in Jesus Christ Who is our Seven-Star General.
3. *Theological or Christian Education*: Degree/Diploma/Certificate in theology, chaplaincy training, etc.
4. *Ordination/Commissioning*: By a reputable church/organization.
5. *Spiritual Maturity*: Experience, growth, character influence.
6. *Attachment or Submission to a Spiritual Mentor:* A notable personality who disciples you in life and ministry. Supportive, etc
7. *Communication Skills*: Do you have good communication skills? (Heb.16:13). Listening, empathy, preaching, encouraging, etc.
8. *Adaptability*: Flexibility, positive influences in diverse settings.
Join with it:
9. *Denominational Requirements*: Some churches require specific affiliation with a denomination or Church.
10. *Relevant Training/Certification*: Chaplaincy courses, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), Seminary or Pastoral Education, etc.
11. *Life Experience, Maturity in Business, in Christian Ministry*: New life in Christ, Ministry experience, counseling skills.

*More Details or Specific requirements And Scriptural Qualifications*
i. *Above Reproach*: Good reputation (reputation and a husband of one wife: Faithful marriage (1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:6)
ii. *Temperate, Self-Controlled*: Wise, prudent (1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:8)
iii. *Respectable, hospitable*: Kind, welcoming (1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:8)
iv. *Able to Teach*: Sound doctrine, counsel (1 Timothy 3:2, 2 Timothy 2:24)
v. *Not a New Convert*: Mature, grounded (1 Timothy 3:6)
vi. *Good manager of household*: Leads own family well (1 Timothy 3:4-5)

*Ability to Apply Your Skills or Chaplaincy Calling, is Additional Advantage:*
i. *Spiritual Leadership*: Providing guide other people and leaders, modeling Christ in all you do (1 Timothy 4:12, Titus 2:7-8).
ii. *Offering Dedicated Counseling Care*: Must be a leader with astuteness, wise, compassionate, biblically sound (James 5:16, 2 Timothy 1:7; 2:2).
iii. *Showcasing Ministry in Diverse Settings*: Discipled, disciplined, adapt, serve like Jesus (Matthew 20:28, 1 Corinthians 9:19-23).
iv. *Integrity in Tough Times*: Must be trustworthy, above reproach (1 Timothy 3:10, Titus 1:7)
v. *Loving and Focusing on God's Glory and Power*: Serve to honor Him, serve to glorify Him, speaking about Him in love more than your necessary pains and pleasures (1 Corinthians 10:31, Colossians 3:17).

*More on Chaplaincy Roles by Application of:*
1. *Pastoral Care*: Chaplaincy is not about the rank you wear but the service you render, life you changed and support you give while, praying and counsel with people in whatever situation they found themselves (James 5:14-16).
2. *Your Prompt Crisis Supports*: This counts because, it bring love, hope, peace to life (2 Corinthians 1:8-11, Romans 15:13).
3. *Teaching, Guiding*: In Chaplaincy and Christian Faith in general, use the Word of God, depend on godly wisdom, revelations and inspiration or discerning spirit to do your work. Be in the spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Titus 2:1).

*Conclusion*
Do more and go more in hospitals, orphanages and military settings, schools and, even Churches. The roads, the high ways where accident victims abound and begging for cares. May Almighty God continue to use us for His further miracles and glory at all times.

*UNDERSTANDING SCRIPTURAL BENEFITS OF BEING A RENEWED CHAPLAIN AND A SOLDIER OF CHRIST !*

I was praying that, the Holy Spirit 🔥 will give me scriptural foundation to wrap up the importance, benefits and rewards of being a Chaplain because, from my basic course and now graduate and an alumni of Chaplaincy education, we were always clamoring for what we will benefit for belonging to this kind of interesting and international organization.

But, understand that, Chaplains who exhibit trustworthiness, faithfulness, stewardship, accountability and timed commitment are in great demand, today all over the globe.
