Weekend ministry:

Privileged to host our founding missionary pastor Deloach and his wife. It was a short visit but we learnt a lot from this faithful couple. Thankful to Albemarle Baptist Church for lending us their pastor for a weekend. abc.avenue.org

We recently hosted “New Dawn Turkana Initiative” where the church came along leaders among the Turkana community in Silale Nyahururu to mentor youths from this region.

This was a great opportunity to preach the gospel to these young people for three days and engage them in a variety of subjects including mental health, drug and substance abuse, educational talks and many others.

Calvary Bible Baptist Church in Silale was graciously hosted this initiative and will continue to do so in the years to come. So thankful for pastor Lochodo for his leadership in this.

Today at one of our church plants, Baraka Bible Baptist Church, the drilling of a community borehole started. This has been a long journey but grateful to our God for His kindness to us and His people here in Baraka.

Baraka area in Muruku, Salama ward, Laikipia West of Likipia County, is a very dry area. People here have struggled over the years to get safe drinking water. As a church, we have previously fetched water in Nyahururu, over 20km away, for some families. We intend to give this water to the people of this area and make sure the struggles of clean water is history.

As you may know, this area is new settlement created by the Office of the President to settle people previously displaced during the 2007 post election violence. The needs here are immense and we are happy that God has allowed us to help with this need for clean water and a Bible believing church.

Our county government, County Government of Laikipia, has a good plan to drill water in the county as needed. There is however a challenge of resources to sink and equip boreholes. With this borehole, the county government did the hydro-geological survey for free, a service that is available for everyone in Laikipia and helped us to get the necessary permits for the construction of the well.

The drilling here is being done by SWEEM DRILLING KENYA LTD based in Gilgil. Their services are exceptional to this point!

Pray that the Lord will provide finances for the equipping of the borehole.

Pray that this project will enhance the spread of the gospel in this community by attracting settlers for the glory of God.
